I don't know who've you've met, but most women we've encountered haven't been like that. Sure there are some, same as men and couples, and some get delusional due to ratios, but most are decent people. |

The unbalance of the male/female ratio does mean there is a tendency for some women on here to grow inflated egos who maybe normally wouldn't and I would agree with the OP it's not very attractive. So just avoid them. It doesn't seem to happen so much with women who post on the forum as much as on wider fab.
The unbalance also means there is a tendency for some men who are normally level headed reasonable people to turn into whingey whiney little bitches, there's plenty of those on the forums but they can be ignored too. |

I think the OP has misinterpreted because of a male tendancy to see things through a filter of egotism - I think the bad behaviour of some women on here is simply indicative of their LACK of healthy self-esteem and good character, combined with the simple fact that they have the power to abuse because of the ratios on here. What's that quote - power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

It's an often complained about situation - and usually by a not-to-attractive guy who has approached a 'curvaceous lady' and been told to sling his hook. His ego is bruised, the curvaceous lady becomes a 'fat minger I wouldn't look twice at down the pub' is called an egotistical bitch. She may indeed have slammed him down in a rude and arrogant manner, but I'd bet good money that is NOT because she feels good about herself! She's been down the pub, she knows - she just has more power on fab than she has the self-esteem to handle gracefully.
Even the total narcissist has self-loathing at root. People of either gender who know their worth have no need to criticise others all the time. |

Some of the ladies you have described as being egotistical are clearly nothing of the sort - brittle and defensive after they have been mistreated repeatedly maybe, but I do not see inflated ego.

I disagree - open-minded questioning often results in an interesting discussion. I didn't condemn the OP, I merely stated my belief that he is mistaken most of the time. I can almost count on one hand the women I have seen on the forums who clearly had what I would describe as 'huge egos', total prima donas, and they were obviously deeply damaged individuals, as the men who met them often quickly found out.
And when those 'rate yourself' threads go up, many men overestimate their ranking whereas some real female hotties mark themselves really low.
Generalisations of course, but in general terms I would bet narcissism is more of a male trait, it is a societal thing - that programme on gender issues in primary school children showed exactly the same.
I have no personal axe to grind either way, and did not take the OP's criticism personally at all. |

To be fair though OP that is someone being rude. Not nesseccarily having an over inflated ego or thinking they are God's gift.
I do agree with you though, in regards to the women who are being abusive. There is no need to be rude/abusive to someone who has sent a polite and enquiring 1st message. Even if they've had a bad day, there is no excuse for someone being combative to someone who's only being polite . |

What's nasty about what I wrote and which people am I being nasty to? I asked you some very simple and obvious questions about your comments including why you're still here which you've failed to answer. That isn't being rude it's having a discussion. I also agreed that if you've been treated badly that's not fair but you clearly haven't been treated badly by 99% of the women here and that's at the root of the response you're getting. Disagreeing with you and challenging a ridiculous comment you made isn't of itself being rude or nasty you know. If you'd popped up here saying some women are rude, obnoxious, stuck up or whatever there'd be no argument from anyone because it's perfectly obvious.
I think you need to differentiate a bit better between people being nasty/rude and people just disagreeing with you and calling you out on silly comments. |

You have no idea how many profiles he's read or women he has spoken to.
It seems to be ok for women to throw around their opinions on men (rarely positive ones), but men can't for women, unless it's to compliment, flatter or swell egos.

Let's face it you're hardly going to help your own case by making such sweeping and derogatory comments when in fact you have no idea what 99% of the women on this site are really like. If you've been treated badly by some of them that's not nice but there's no need to tar them all with the same brush any more than it'd be OK for us to say that 99% of guys here are sad wankers.

What's nasty about what I wrote and which people am I being nasty to? I asked you some very simple and obvious questions about your comments including why you're still here which you've failed to answer. That isn't being rude it's having a discussion. I also agreed that if you've been treated badly that's not fair but you clearly haven't been treated badly by 99% of the women here and that's at the root of the response you're getting. Disagreeing with you and challenging a ridiculous comment you made isn't of itself being rude or nasty you know. If you'd popped up here saying some women are rude, obnoxious, stuck up or whatever there'd be no argument from anyone because it's perfectly obvious.

There is a debate going on...some are making valid points and holding their own, others are holding their ego and some are justifying their attitude by not looking at their own behaviour in why they feel ego is the reason behind how they are treated. |

It's nothing personal what I said. From my experience I found men are more humble on this site than many of the women. That is to do with the massive ratio of women to men, which obviously makes a woman feel superior. It's not personal but instead a general overview of the site.
I didn't mean you.
I meant the others whos egos have lead them from the ops statement of
"I dont like women with big egos"
to
"op is insecure, and requires a "pathetic" woman who craves attention and he can't get laid"
all because they've taken his comment personally so have gone on a ludicrous defensive

Whenever a man questions anything women do on here he's labelled a whining saddo who can't take rejection. All they are doing is pointing something out and giving their opinion.

It is my opinion that a significant number of women who use the fab forum have huge egos.
It is my opinion that a significent number of women say stuff purely to come across as having a huge ego for a laugh when in fact they are sound as a pound.
Replace all the above with men, couples, etc and you get my point.
Lastly it is my opinion that theres a number of members who think I am a dickhead. |
