So me and my son are off island hopping in Thailand in 2ish weeks. The plan is pretty much get there are see where the wind takes us and so need to travel light as possible so we're limited to 1 rucksack. It's the 1st time I've been so what do I need and what do I ditch. Idea please |

Undies. Anti-bite stuff. Sun tan lotion and after sun. A hat. Money. Camera. Small first aid kit. Handful of t-shirts and shorts. Spare pair of merrels. Wash kit. List of emergency numbers just in case. Travel docs. I would also highly recommend the travel size version of Pass The Pigs to amuse away any dead hours. Baby wipes. Always baby wipes. (Photo of an endless traffic jam on the M62 to remind you of home maybe). Have fun. |

Funny you say that there's a pic of my car pushing into a filter lane on the 62 flying round faceshite. Apparently my number plate is now Facebook famous I'm so proud not |

"Get a travel bath towel each...microfibre. Very small, lightweight and dry quickly.
Go Outdoors do them, and in bath sheet size, too.."
One of my best buys for travelling light! ^ |

It's incredibly humid at this time of year so things will dry fast.
Insect repellent is a good idea, but good quality clothes are very cheap so don't worry
Food is very cheap as well, didn't need immodium last time I went.
Plasters or a very comfortable pair of shoes are vital

"You've forgotten to take me
Well you'd definitely fit in the bag
Me!!
You think we will both fit in
I'm only a little dot, Bladey said so in my veri "
I think you'll find I said your a squiddle dab
Thanks for all the replays think I've thought of most things so far. According to my lad though the gear out there will be way to small for us. He's 6ft6 and I'm 6ft1. 1 size does not fit all |

Having spent years backpacking the most important thing is looking after you passport and money. Buy yourself a discrete money belt that fastens around your waist and can't be seen under your tshirt. Keep all documents and cash in it. |
