This is inside!! They keep getting in through a pipe in our kitchen, and also just noticed through a bit of the skirting board. The house next door was empty for months a couple of years back and we've been having the problem every summer since then, am getting sick of it now.

No we haven't but will give anything a go, plus I love the smell of that, must be better than the sprays we've been using. Thanks for the tip x

Sounds Silly,,,, but segments of Cucumber placed at along ant runs particularly those leading from their nesting area will stop them using those runs and they will move on to new location….or.. You can choose too dose some sugar granules with ant poison which the worker ants will not eat but will carry back to the nest for the Queen too feast on… she will die and the colony will disband

Wasps are the only animal which have no point on earth. They don't pollenate, they aren't prey and they don't prey.

Ask any farmer....wasps are the best natural insect control system on earth.

Every year my house is invaded by them, apparently it's because of the sandy soil the houses are built on. I've not had many this year so far, but I've used spray after spray in past years. This year I used powder along all the skirtings in the hall and between the joins in the ceramic floor tiles... making sure to brush it right in. It seems to have worked better than in past years.

I remember in the 1970's seeing a huge ladybird invasion they were literally crunching underfoot and were everywhere. I don't recall ever seeing anything like that since. Closest was a grasshopper swarm in Italy in 2004. Really freaky as they hammered into car windscreen.

Try stuffing the gaps round the pipe with cotton wool soaked in Peppermint Oil. Ants hate peppermint!

Also baking power along where they walk. It gets on their feet and when they clean it off they ingest it and explode. Seriously!

Also, use Nippon Ant power along the exterior locations where they get in. For interiors, if they still make it, Deathlac spray. Leaves a long lasting residue that poisons the little bastards!

A Home Among The Woodland Creatures

Spare a thought for motorbike couriers like me - I get so many of the buggers splattered across my visor I can barely see - and cleaning them off is not a pleasant task
