Ever noticed how some profiles have this at the end of almost sentence, what does it say about those behind the profile, example "we are into naughty safe fun lol" putting lol at the end of such sentences kinda confuses me, maybe I'm. missing something here, anyone else think lol is over used these days?

Definatley , i work with teens and they use it in spoken language now as well
eg " we just did it for the lols!"
maybe its just us getting old though! lol!x |

Oh don't my mum got so fed up of her daughter in law putting lol on the end of every single text, that my mum has started using it on everything she says to my sister in law now....so much so each time mum mentions her she calls her LOL or Laugh out Loud, or says your sister in law said ........then adds laff out loud onto the end of the sentence. |

I think I might have written this on the forum before, but in the death notices in the Newcastle Evening Chronicle it announced the passing of a bloke called Lawrence and after the piece it had (Lol) in brackets. I thought thats a terrible typo or very insensitive then it dawned Lol is short for Lawrence! |

think it is used to indicate a little giggle more than a laugh these days. Such it language, never static and if it is used to communicate, it is language.
