Fashion , hairstyles or even the certain words that you felt yourself copying ?

I don't recall following a trend ....
My musical and fashion tastes were firmly planted in 60's culture .....
I suppose I should admit to briefly having a mullet but I don't want to elaborate on that .... |

Haha before I read the full OP I was already thinking grolsch bottle tops on my dm's.
In my teens it was the skater boy look, huge baggy jeans. Other than that I've not really followed many trends |

I'm notorious for just doing my own thing. I always have done. I have hair that has a mind of it's own so couldn't have followed any hairstyle trends even if I wanted to. I had long hair in a ponytail for quite a few years (what the hell was I thinking) when it most definitely wasn't fashionable. Stuff tends to happen organically for me. I get into things when I fancy it not because it's trendy to do so. I'm a bit of an oddball, always have been. |

Haha. Grolsch bottle tops. That's about the time I bought picture jeans. Remember flinstones on each thigh? I then thought, what am I doing walking around with Garfield in my leg for. (There's a joke there somewhere )that was a fad that I followed. I'm generally do my own thing. I'm glad beards came into fashion, because I've been looking like a scruff for years. |

Oh lots over the years, started with the tartan trews and the Bay city rollers. Then did all the 50's look when grease came out. Then the gypsy skirts and cheesecloth blouses. Then came the ruffle blouses with the New Romantics. And the big perms x |

When I was a young teen I had a lovely collection of ra-ra skirts. Then I started listening to lots of different types of music and went a bit gothy so never really followed any trends. I'm quite pleased about that |

Had one of those "bomber" jackets the "hard" kids would wear back in school. Coincidentally enough I was never picked on despite being a nerd
At college I had overly baggy jeans, but not the kind that would show as much boxers as possible, the ones that would get torn away from being too long |

There and to the left a bit |
Only fashion I really followed (and still do to an extent) was the late seventies/early eighties Mod/Two Tone thing - so Fred Perry's and Ben Sherman button downs (before they cost you the arm and a leg they do now), two tone trousers, tassled loafers, bowling shoes, grandad cardigans, Harrington/green nylon flight jacket etc. - jeans HAD to be 501s (still do now). |

I had my own hippy/goth mish-mash style. A weird combination i know but i not only loved The Sisters of Mercy but also Jefferson Airplane. Thing is, nothing's changed. |

My beastie and I brought the Madonna look to our small town in the 80's, we were actually told it was disgraceful showing our bras and wearing lace tights with the feet cut off! I also sported a Diana haircut...lest said..

My mum made me paint mine with that stuff that tastes disgusting, and it worked. |

In my mid teens it was amazing that I could see through the curtains hairdo I had. Also, the jeans were rather baggy.
And very early teens... I had a shell suit |

I was, what was known in South Wales as a "spice boy" pre-parenthood - highlights, spikes, sun bed sun tan, white teeth, tight shirt, baggy g star jeans, white shoes and always with sun glasses in my shirt. Rocking the 2005 mullet

Northern soul and still into it in a big way now
Although it wasn't a trend it was more underground
Unfortunately it's become a trend the last few years with the music in tv adds etc and these people come and go but I still see those from 30 plus years ago at all nighters and it's great

I never conciously followed trends but pre-internet I bought and wore what I could find in local shops so the choices were somewhat limited (bar the occasional charity shop find). I never wore a shell suit, but to my lasting shame, I did once have a perm. I don't know what I was thinking. |

I removed an earring when it seemed to be getting more popular among my friends. I'm definitely not a follower.
This forum's a bit popular for my tastes, too. |
