If you had a cance of using a time machine to change something from your past, or taking 500 thousand pounds to effect your future. Which would you choose?

No contest. I'd take the money. I've no regrets in life and there's no guarantee that what you change won't affect other things. I wouldn't take that chance.

No amount? .

When I was young, (like 39yrs old) I always said I'd do anything for a million. (Obviously this amount rises with inflation). And I think it still stands.

How would it effect the future? Is it just how we would make it effect us or are there consequences of taking it?

I wouldn't change the past because then i would be different, but I wouldn't take te money if there were consequences, I'd say no to both if that was the case.

So I'm assuming you mean going into the past with current knowledge. In which case why would anyone take 500k when you could just go back to the last huge euromillions roll over with the correct numbers and get millions

I'm conflicted

Much as the past is the past, I want to swoop back and change some things. Un-meet people, help someone and have more time with others.

My past isn't the sunniest but it has mad me the crazy I am today and shown me what I dont want to be.

The future...I'm scared about that.

Can I just wake up and get through each day?

Time machine as I'd know all the sporting event results and could invest in property so I'd be a multi millionaire and put an extra 30 plus years on my life.

Even if you didn't want to go back years you could go back a week or two and make more than 500000 with the lottery and betting

Nobody needs 78 million, but half a million isn't enough for the average 30 something to retire on and live. You could survive on it, or invest it, But it would mean the continuation of the rat race. By the time you've bought a house, car, Been in Holliday and sorted your nearest and dearest out, there a couple of hundred grand left at most.

Multiple millions would provide the opportunity to provide not only for myself for the rest of my days but also to take care of family and loved ones, unburdening them from the restraints of work and money. Also provide for my daughter in a way that would be impossible otherwise both financially and in the more important factors of time and experiences.

That about sum it up?

The past is what it is. I regret nothing. Yes if I had my time again I perhaps would have done things differently, but I'm here today because of where I've been.

If Hollywood has taught us anything it that despite time travel being sometimes funny (thanks Bill and Ted) the slightest adjustment to the past can have dangerous and unpredictable effects on the future (relative to the time visited).

But £500k would keep me in pork scratchings for a like time.
