24 weeks? A mere snippet of time. The A1(M) between Dishforth and Leeming has had roadworks since 2009 and won't open properly til 2013!!! And thats when they start again at Catterick! |

Tell me about it!! You learn to use that stretch of the A1 during non-peak times. Didn't realise they were extending from Catterick immediately though.... and it' still a long way to Newcastle if the plan is to A1(M) it all the way up. |

Thing is, my village cricket pitch is bigger than this bloody roundabout and it`s the second "solution" that the HA have come up with! The first was divide it up into dedicated lanes with was completely unsuccessful as no-one took any notice of them! |

" If I remember rightly, they have been doing work on that stretch for a lot longer than that, I used to go up to topcliffe ever week, an it always seemed that there was work going on around dishforth |

Can you imagine Durham or Washington Services when that happens? I tend to come off at Aycliffe if Im coming home northward bound and take the old A1 from Eden Arms - avoids a lot of waiting. Its about time they got traffic sorted for metro from consett through Whickham too. Wee country roads not built for it.
