Prety Good, I'm new to doing this so just setting a benchmark for my winter training but it's likely to be quite a bit lower than yours

Remember in winter, your figures will be artificially low, as your muscles are 20% less efficient.

So do ftp now outdoors or on turbo, then replicate in spring or on turbo!

If you're using power meter, this can be offset by using temperature calibration.

Managed to sort my numb foot issue out by lowering my saddle slightly thanks to a Halfords stand at a local cycle festival event at the weekend. Amazing how much difference quarter of an inch makes

"Can someone please tell us total newbs what's going on? "

Functional Threshold Power (FTP) is the maximum power output you can sustain for 1 hour, the figure can be used as a key performance indicator and can be used to formulate a power based training plan too.

I'm new to this power training thing so I may have missed some other stuff too?

Funny years ago you did a 25 mile time trial, that gave you a good indicator of how good you were for an hour.

I used to do the Broughton by pass course, bit of an undulating course. So no real drag from any passing vehicles, nice course as well.

It should, especially if you sync it to a garmin - but for lots of people FTHR will suffice for a training plan provided you monitor power to make sure you're not managing HR by winding off the effort....

Seen tt's on the southern stretch of A19 on a sun morning, heading home from work, still wouldn't go on it these days even sun morning, might as well be motorway, lucky I've got the 'road to nowhere' to train on when conditions or traffic are bad, comes in handy 2 mile lap of closed off A road on doorstep!

It's winter - no time to be grinding round industrial estates disturbing Polish truckers trying to sleep, lol. Thirty minutes and I'm headed up to Scots Gap or out towards Stamfordham.... (I was going to mention Dyke Neuk but I'll bet southerners think that;s a sexual position....)
