Can you live without sex?

It is possible to live without sex, many people do through choice or necessity e.g. illness. I think it is far more difficult to live without human physical contact e.g. a hug, a hand holding yours an arm round the shoulder than it is to live without sex. |

Would I die without sex - NO
Would I want to live without sex - HELL NO
Would I be unhappy without sex - HELL YES
Putting it differently, if my life depended on not having sex I suppose I'd live without it. But left to my own natural tendencies, sex several times a week and sex with multiple partners is my norm. If I find someone attractive, he/she usually ends up in my bed. |

I agree with this. I have quite a low sex drive so I don't particularly need sex very often, it's very low on my list of priorities. |

Haven't had a choice for the past couple of year and now thanks to a shitty disfiguring illness that I can't imagine anyone would want to deal with it's unlikely to change anytime soon. Frustrating as hell but it won't kill me |

For me of is the other way round. I can live without the " human physical contact" but can't do without sex. |

Well I went 7 years lols and didnt really miss it at the time but then I was lucky enough to gain my freedom and join Fab and boom found out what I had beeen missing all those years.... now my appetite seems to be growing and I keep waiting for my desires to level out but not yet being in touch with and feeling good about your body has so much to do with your sex drive I am sure 
All that said a good snog and a big hug are priceless miss those |

Yes I can, based on what you've described above as physical contact:" ... a hug, a hand holding yours, an arm around the shoulder..." Sometimes I've had sex without any of the above.
Though I like such physical contact, not everyone I've met wanted the same. |

I've done spells of over a year without sex. As I've been single a long time I do find that when I'm not having regular sex I let myself go. I don't shave my legs or my fanny, I eat shit and don't make much effort with how I look.
I did have sex two weeks ago though and it put a spring in my step. |

Sex with other people? Not a problem. My last time was a good three years ago and I've gone longer than that. I've said it before: people let it take up too much of their time, money and effort when more often than not it's a disappointment, or average at best and there are so many other things which are better than sex.
If it was so great, men wouldn't want a sandwich ten seconds after it and women would be more up for it than they quite rightly are. As an urge, you can get rid of it quite easily without all the extra unnecessaries and at least a wank won't get upset with you when you say it wasn't great. |

Was in a long term relationship without any sex for years. I didn't miss it or want it (quite bad sex). That was my first sexual partner and I didn't know what I was missing.

I could live without sex. For me living without intimacy would be impossible.
At times sex is just a vehicle to that desire to feel wanted, to be held close and to just not feel quite so lonely. Even if it is only briefly.

Due to my living situation (living with my parents) it's a bit of a challenge. Also I spend most of my free time working on my MA, and there are lots of stressors associated with that, which often means sex is the last thing on my mind.
I do love a good cuddle though!! |
