There will always be hardcore gerontophiles, of course, but only in the way that there are people who like to have sex with cars and cattle - surely not enough to make it anything but a very minority perve. Women love wealth and power, men love looks, goes the old line - but that's a hangover from the time when women had no wealth or power, and if they were to achieve any position in the world they had to marry it. This is changing now. It may be better to be an old man's darling than a young man's fool - but there's no fool like an old fool, either.
Do big age gaps work ? could you have sex with a person 50 or 60 years older .. alot of us say age is a number do it matter ? |

I think 50 or 60 years older is a bit much. My auntie married a man 20 years younger than her and they stayed married for a very long time. My hubby is 20 years older and we have been married for 30 years. |

there are a few rather yummy 46yr olds on here.. thats 23years older than me
I think its about physical condition and mentality. Ive had a short relationship with a 42yr old, we were clearly different people and the age did factor. Although i find older men attractive i can't see it being a long term thing.

I d probably draw the line at somebody more than 20 years older .. not just ab out looks and physique but more about that they are at a different life stage and we would not have much in common.  |

I would prefer to settle with and have regular sex with someone my own age.
I would hate to be an old wrinkly with a toy boy, I can't give him children.
I would feel he'd be missing out on learning a lot of things in life I've already experienced, he'd be raring to go out and grab the world by the throat as I did when younger.... I'd be happy sitting back and watching now.
The same with someone decades older than me, sex may be fine but I'd be afraid of losing him and living the rest of my life without him. |

I love and I mean love older men.. After marrying someone younger who did my head in. I want kids and some older men have done that and don't want to have any more kids I think that is the down side to dating older men... |

Kate is 8 yrs younger than I am. We met on a blind date, and as soon as we met I knew she was "the one"
I was 24, she was 17. I took her to meet my parents and I thought everything was hunky dory, lol.
I took Kate home and when I got back my mom was waiting up for me. She gave me a lecture, and said that I should look for someone my own age, and not to get too involved with a young girl 
I told her that she wasn't going to choose my partner and that at 24, I was old enough to make my own decision.
We've been together 30yrs so far, so I think I got that one right |

Do you think men would go for ladys alot older 40 50 years then them or would thay have to have loads of money and stuff to offer ? like the rich older man the suger daddys with young woman hanging of there arm ? |

I only know one guy who has married and been blissfully happy with an older lady.
I've had mates who have had flings with older ladies, but not by more than 10yr age gaps.
Relationships are different to "flings", but I'm sure you already know that.
Most guys will have a sexual relationship with ladies much older than themselves, but ask them to commit and you'll get a totally different response.
They can't help it, it's just how it is |

I actually have friends where the female Now 58) is 20 years older and they are happy... and have been for some time. I have other friends, where the situation is reverse. It depends among other things on the emotional maturity of both people but a huge age gap either side would not be for me for reasons stated before... |

I could not have had sex with Hugh Hefner no matter how much money he has. I did feel a bit sorry for him ... thinking all his lady friends run off apart from ex wife who lives in the garden house at his home . Maybe he will learn from it and go for a older lady next time . |

Well you all know my thoughts on this.
But just to answer some of the points that people have met on this thread
Firstly i woud never have dreamed that i would of been attracted to a 63 year old guy when i was 41, it was a love that grew out of a friendship.
Not having things in common, there are lots of things we dont have in common but far more we do plus with think alike.
Them dying and leaving you, this was a hard one for me when we got together but i just think i could get run over a bus tomorrow or die earlier than jay but i would sooner have 20 years with someone i consider my soulmate than 40 years with someone who isnt.
But five years on and its as blissful in fact more so than day one |

I'm 51 next month. I couldn't contemplate being with a 20 year old or an 80 year, but would be icky to me. Prefer up to 10 years older, not interested to younger at all. |

I think to a degree it depends on the personality not the age but when I was 32 I was seeing a 19 year old. The sex was great but fuck! going out clubbing with her was a confusing and bewildering world, all that bottom wiggling. |

Never had a huge age gap, i know its slightly different but i do have some great friendships with others where there is an age gap.
Age is just a number and i always try to look past that. You can have an immature 40 year old or a very mature 25 year old, so judge each person individually

i have lots of young friends but theres NO WAY i would shag them, the more we swing the more age has become an issue for us, i really dont like more then 10 years difference either way.Madonnas recent conquest is less than half her age, i spose shes fitter than most 53 year olds but really when the sex is over what would you talk about?! x |

there is 21.5 years age gap between joe and I. when we got married 6 years ago he knew that there would be no children, so we got a couple of cats, his mother has stopped talking to him as he "married that woman". Joe says he is happy and would never leave me, he works in a female dominated environment but i never feel jealous. I have taken abuse from people over the age difference saying that my children are older than he is, well if they dont like it tough. I never look on joe as being younger he is my partner in all things and we are equal. Age is just a number it is the mental age that matters |

None of my family or friends have really commented on jays age, as for strangers dont know if they comment or not and couldnt care less. Its me thats laughing just hope they are as happy as i am in my relationship
It is a bit strange though if we go out with my mother cause she is two years younger than jay, my brother in law calls her mum would just be weird jay saying it |
