And you go about your life without ever having to worry about anyone looking at you like a piece of shit because you have a medical condition or even someone looking at the carer thinking can you shut that monkey up . Im sorry if i come across as having no sympathy but thats because I know how hard suffers have to work at having any sort of normal life

Whilst his disability at worst for you is annoyance, for him it must be horrendous to have to live with.

We know how you feel. Our neighbour has a mental health issue. Most of the time you can ignore it but when it feels like the ceiling is coming down at 2 in the morning we can understand your frustration.

As everyone says, it's not his fault and we are tolerant because of that.

If it does your head in that much, you would be better off movingas advised

I worked with a contractor for a little while who had Tourettes Syndrome, and something he said to me had me literally pissing myself.

We were talking about ambitions and how likely we were to achieve them.

He said "I'm never going to be World Hide and Seek Champion"

And just to make his point, he shouted "aye" with a loud pitched squeal.

We were both rolling on the floor chuckling like madmen. I think it's great that he can laugh about it. He was right as rain most of the time, but he said he's never been to the cinema, and it's something he'd love to experience.

The job finished, he moved on and we've lost touch, but he was a sound bloke

God bless him

I work in a building which has a home for severely mentally ill people attached.

All day long people scream and if I didnt know that they were ill, Id think they were being hurt.

I dont actually hear them anymore, I have switched off to it. They cannot help their illness. I am lucky in that the only problem I have is that its not a quiet place to work. But Id know which position Id rather be in

Actually I do think it could have been worded better, I don't believe the OP meant any offence.

It is one thing working with people with this type of disability but to live beside and try and get some quality downtime to allow us to function must be tough.

And it is easy to say move but in these tough economic times easier said than done. I remember the OP speaking about getting a place when he started posting and the cost was a factor.

All in all a better worded OP but not intent to offend.

Got bless the neighbour tho, it must be so tough xx

OK....so now we know that the OP was referring to the Landlord as a wanker and not the guy with the medical affliction, which leaves the question.

How would the OP like to see the situation resolved?

O o O oo

Just because someone has an illness doesn't mean you can't say an aspect of that illness annoys the hell out of you.

We lived in a semi once and the next door neighbours kid was mentally disabled, he was very noisy, banging doors, screaming , telly on very loud at silly oclock. It is draining and annoying. We moved......but that didn't msan we were not sympathetic to the kids illness, WE just couldn't live with it

Give the OP a break.

To the OP ,our answer was to move and I can understand why you are frustrated.

He explained that his post was being read wrong...as I can see it that was accepted by just about everyone, the thread had moved on to other aspects of his problem with the neighbour..but he then showed the obvious angry side of his personality and had a hissy fit.

Nah, we love it when people don't read our profiles, why stop there.

I steered clear 'til now 'cos I wasn't sure how the OP meant it, did appear to have a lack of understanding but I think he was just venting some steam.

Just because he realises the neighbour has a condition doesn't stop it becoming an issue for himself.

I think if he carefully chose his words we may have seen a different response.

"oh well done guys

You are joking right?

did i say knock knock?

Not all jokes have knock knock in them though!

haha as just thinking the same thing!!!

to be fair bouncy if he left over this thread it was a serious case of toys out of the pram! after we had established he was calling his landlord a wanker people stood up for him!!"

i know treacle but it does get kinda tiresome watching the way some jump on people

especially when preaching tolerance yet show none themselves

i see plenty of toy throwing round here but i like to think i'm tolerant enough to see it as just that n let things be

i have thrown mine before even like i said earlier some things just drive you to distraction and someone who is normally chilled suddenly looses it

maybe its just the way i am but i try to find the good in everyone even if some do push that to its limits at times i still try

the good lands, the bad lands, the any where you may want me lands

"I did say its not his fault, and I do feel sorry for him, but hes always laughing to, so he cant be that sad. Anyway just cause I feel sorry for him does not mean he dont piss me off "
You're perfectly entitled to feel pissed off, that is a personal response to something that you are obviously finding it difficult to tolerate. All I would like to add is that you have a choice, you ccan choose to move or stay, something that your neighbour isn't able to do he can't choose neither should he be made to choose a cure or medication that makes it a damn site easier for other people to tolerate him. If you do feel tempted to raise the topic with your landlord I would be very careful, harrasment of disabled people is certainly not acceptable and something that the disabled movement is trying extremely hard to get the authorities to recognise and take seriously. Your neighbour may be registered as a vulnerable adult due to their impairment.
