We had a lovely roast chicken dinner at 2pm and I'm still stuffed from it. Got a nice Tassimo coffee now and that'll do me until about 8pm when we'll have a snack.

We use the London Carriageworks in Hope St. Liverpool for high tea. Occassionally the Adelphi ......

Sounds posh but it's reasonalbe in either.

London Carriageworks is so serene. Wonderful service.Elegant quarter of the city. Fresh delicate sandwiches and a lovely assortment of cakes and cream. All washed down with copious pots of tea......... Bliss x

Dunno if they still do it….

But In Eldon Square Shopping Mall in Newcastle City Centre,,,, there were regular afternoon tea dances held in one of the atriums ,,,,,

I was utterly fantastic just watching members of the older generation rolling back the years and doing their thing all decked out resplendently in suitable attire, helping transport the whole scene from its modern location to a place somewhere now lost in a bygone era…….

It was also equally fascinating watching young children enthusiastically attempting to copy the moves of these sprightly elders as they watched from the sidelines where the stood with their track-suited parents stuffing Gregs pasties into there gobs in-between greedily slurping gut-rot drink from cans as if there wasn’t time to swallow what they were chewing before hand,,, ….

Hey…. ya cant have everything can ya,,,,!!!

Hmmmm, I would suggest that Betty's serves afternoon tea rather than High tea, though the glass of champagne thrown in for the rather exorbetant price of £27.50 may just make it a high tea
