I'm going to brave it and release face pictures for a short period of time once there's a few commenters on here...
Everyone has their reasons to not put up their face pictures. Mine is due to vocation but I'm going to be brave and put them as public for a while.
What's the point if no one gets to see? |

Don't feel pressured in having your face picture on your profile, If you want to meet someone either send it with your first message or if/when they ask for a picture |

I've often thought it would be nice if we could be more open about what we do. But because of work we can't. So the closest we will ever come to public face pics is my half face (and usually only when our more explicit pics are hidden).
Its too easy in the internet era to have things happen that you can never erase. My face on a sex site while looking for extramarital sex is one that I'd like to avoid. |

I occasionally do get them but it's not too common, I start to question the motives and become a little apprehensive! |

I completely agree with that, I shouldn't feel pressured but I do feel my wish to remain anonymous to the many hinders my chances.
I've decided every now and then I'll make them public for a period of time and see if it improves my unread messages! |

Can only speak for ourselves, but we'll happily message profiles ( when actively looking) that don't have face pics on display. If we like the other pics and profile text.

I've never had any problem with sharing over messages. But I have always believed that people would be hesitant to message seeing that I usually don't have any public pictures. Although I do think I come across quite well in the text. |

I'm afraid you can still right click and view image in new tab when it's an avatar. Which enlarges it. And while I agree with the OP that it would be nice to feel able to show face, especially when the face is a nice one, the sheer amount of people who would see it as a result doesn't make it worth it for all sorts of vocational and general privacy reasons. I'll just continue to send mine attached to a private message and hope I haven't missed out on messages from possibly perfect meets who were put off by my initial facelessness. |

I'm not one to lie, I wouldn't want to meet someone with them expecting someone to be any different to how I appear or how I state my appearance is!
