Jump to: Newest in thread
So, I'm slowly introducing myself in the forums and one thing that makes me consider if we could click is your taste in music.
So, what's your favourite album?
Mine changes constantly, but there's a dozen or so that I'll turn too constantly, then more recent ones that I'm enjoying.
I'll let you know mine soon, once I've decided |

a quandary, could you change my mind? |
Lots of changing current favourites but the one that I reach for to chill out to completely is "War of the worlds" certain parts still send a chill down my back at times. |

I honestly don't have a fave as a lot depends on my mood. I do have a few "go to" albums though.
I like rock/indie/80s
I also like The Carpenters and musicals. My taste is vary varied. I hope by the end of my life my sexual experiences are as varied as my music |

It's a mood thing really, so there are a handful which I never tire of:
'A Little Man and a House and the Whole World Window' - Cardiacs
'Creatures of the Night' - Kiss
'Powerslave' - Iron Maiden
'Floodland' - Sisters of Mercy
'Unknown Pleasures' -Joy Division
Bit of a metally-gothy type at heart I think. |

Only Floyd album I like. Syd Barrets solo stuff is brilliant too, especially 'The Madcap Laughs'.
If you're after other 60's psych pop the the first couple of 13th floor Elevators albums are perfect ,as is 'Da Capo' & 'Forever Changes' by Love, Odyssey & Oracle' by The Zombies.... If you don't know 'em already there's some magical stuff there.

Cheers for the recommends, the only ones I don't really know are the 13th floor elevators, I always assumed they were more garagey rather than psych. I remember being so excited buying the nuggets box set, expecting a treasure trove of psychpop but 'twas was all noisy garage rock instead, I was not impressed!
I saw the zombies boys live a few years back doing Oddyssey and Oracle, one of the best gigs I have ever experienced! |

Hmmm. So many wonderful albums in my collection to choose from (over 4,000 at the last count); but ever present in my all time favourites list are:
"What's Going On" Marvin Gaye
"Forever Changes" Love
"III" Led Zeppelin
"The Last Record Album" Little Feat
"The Stone Roses" err The Stone Roses
"Blue" Joni Mitchell
Everything Tom Waits has ever done
"Help" The Beatles
"It's a Shame about Ray" The Lemonheads
"Aja" Steely Dan
I'm sure I've missed something, but that lot will do to be getting on with. |

Wow this is a hard question Indeed! :O
I am so many albums but go through waves of listening to different albums and artists.
At the moment, Recovering the Satellites by Counting Crows. Probably the lighter thing I have listened to in a long time. |

Yes the elevators are definitely more garage rock, not as baroque as the other stuff mentioned. still very poppy in places and they knew how to write tunes and a hook. Very trippy lyrics and Roky Erikson had an incredible voice.
I'm jealous you got to see the zombies doing 'O&O', great album i can imagine being amazing live. I was fortunate enough to see Arthur Lee performing 'Forever Changes' though some years back which was everything I hoped it would be

The Specials - The Specials
Motörhead - Inferno

And yeah, I obviously need a three sided coin |

There are too many variables. I don't think I can choose. But albums that will always be near the top of my list are:
Mystery Girl by Roy Orbison
Graceland by Paul Simon
Full Moon Fever by Tom Petty
Traveling Wilbury's Vol. 1
and
Dvorak & Elgar Cello Concertos played by Jacqueline du Pre
But then there's anything by The Beatle's, Johnny Cash's American Recordings and various albums by AC/DC and Iron Maiden etc. etc and so forth. |

Oh yes!
Talking of Pearl Jam, and I know it's off topic, but I simply must post this.

The best break up song EVER. Guaranteed goosebumps at 4:30. Eddie Vedder giving it absolutely everything. |

"Really don't have a fave album.
I love Alice Cooper but I'm currently in a 5 month long (and counting) Depeche Mode obsession.
DM - Violator, and DM - Songs of Faith and Devotion
are both amazing."
I've been the same, ever since we started swinging I can't get enough of DM! I like 'songs of faith and devotion' but much prefer the 3 albums 'Black Celebration', 'Music For The Masses' & 'Violator'.
'Never Let Me Down', 'A Question Of Lust', 'Flies On The Windscreen', 'Stripped' and many others... all resonate a lot with me at the moment.

Never Let Me Down is fantastic.
My favourite two songs are most definitely Walking In My Shoes, and In Your Room.
But there are just so many I love. |
