Like Fabio, I still have my trusted old Nokia 6700 as my back up phone, in case my HTC Desire S goes wrong.

Do you mean you did not copy your contacts across before sending your phone for repair?

Time to play contact roulette, brilliant!

I find it strange that you cannot copy your contact to your SIM, hate to ask the question, however, did you read the instruction manual to find out how to do it?

Blow me!

Learnt something new today, thanks to Eveshamgal, I discovered my HTC Desire S does not have the means to copy my contacts onto the SIM, only onto a SD card!

Because my trusted old Nokias allowed me to copy my contacts to the SIM, I had wrongly assumed that such function applies to all makes of handsets.

I was wrong!!!

If anyone has a HTC and would like to copy their contacts to their SIMs, then try the app contact2sim.

Thanks again OP for your tip!
