I'm really bad at recognising people. They send a face pic but I have to meet them in a quiet place in case I get them mixed up with someone else that looks similar.
I try and turn up first so they come and find me.
Is anyone else the same? How do you deal with it? |

Sunglasses and a quick recce of the meet location.
But I hear you...theyre easy to spot...the awkward looking shady people, trying not to look like swingers talking in whispered voices. The reserved sign on their table is replaced with pervert. |

Im exactly the same. I think its hard to really see someone in a photo-they sometimes look so different in person.
I always just use the being shy thing and ask to meet outside. I also use the wont have glasses on so what colour top will you be wearing? |

I get them to meet me outside a cafe or wetherspoons. That way you can be reasonably sure the one loitering is the meet. I do admit to scarpering once and sending an email to say I couldn't make it, as the man looked nothing like his picture and was wearing a really naff fleece coat with a picture of a horse on it. "I find some faces easily recognisable but there's others that don't stand out to me....and I don't mean that in a bad way "
Me too. I've had to ask a guy I've met once before what he'll be wearing as I'm scared I won't recognise him. I feel awful. |

I'm absolute shit at recognizing people. Marc has saved us on more than one occasion...
"Courtney, I think that's him."
"No, Marc, that doesn't look like him. Stop staring!"
"No, I really think it's him. We'll go ask." And it's him! I would have just left him sitting there!
People don't help at all, either. One guy got a buzz cut the day of our meet without mentioning it. I was seriously convinced it wasn't him we were supposed to meet. And at clubs it's the worst! Neither of us recognize anyone. |

Wear something unique, so that the onus is on them to find you. I'm a little similar, especially if their pics aren't from this - week - or they've had a style change.
Or stick to cock pics, if you've an eye for their beauty |

Yes! But I think it's because you have public face pics so I've looked at them more often. |

Yeah, I'm often recognised by people in my normal life and at Kestrels and I have no idea who they are
I recognised you both too |

We arranged a social with a couple we hadn't met before went into this pub and started looking around for the couple as it was quite busy . I saw what I thought what was the couple and approached them and said are you (couples names) and the chap said no but tell me more I'm intrigued. Needless to say in the next 5 minutes the right couple walked through the door ?? |

I've tended to get to the venue first. Secure myself a table with a view then give a quick description of where abouts I'm sitting.
Either they manage to find me straight off, or end up looking around, but it's soon pretty obvious which one is them. |

I hope you recognised me.
My last meet actually crept up behind me and tapped me on the shoulder while I waited for their train. |

I have to meet someone in peson and engage with them first.
Unless they have a feature thats hard to ignore.
I have massive hair and I'm brown.
I usually get recognised
So I can relax and wait for them to find me |

"I usually ring when I'm at the location you can see who answers thier phone."
Has that always worked out well for you though?
Your example is exactly why I never give my number to someone I've never met. They can have it in person if we both wish to see each other again. I've found other means to keep in instant touch until we meet.
When I first joined here I had a couple of guys turn up who looked little and nothing like his pics. It's not fair really and such a shame some folk feel the need to send old pics. |

When I met one of my long term partners I walked right past him, as I'd only seen a pic of him in sunglasses. I hadn't straightened my hair, so he didn't recognise me either. |

I always ask them to meet me in the carpark and ask what car they drive. As I really embarrassed my self looking for someone in a pub once. Small pub with locals sitting at the bar. I walked in couldn't see him. Man behind the bar asked me if I was ok . I said yes I'm looking for someone but can't find him. He asked me what his name was and I felt like a right fool because I realized I had no idea! Couldn't get out of there quick enough! All eyes on me!! Never again! |

We're terrible for remembering what people look like.
Fortunately, my hair colour makes us quite easy to spot

Yup have suffered from this many times despite making a point of looking at their pic last thing before getting out the car.....
Good job they always spotted me (although not sure why!) |

"Wouldnt have this problem if everyone carried a sign with FAB and their name on it.
Taxi men use it at the airport and it seems to work for them.

I normally don't get that problem but have been thrown if the lady in question has had her hair cut and dyed since the photo had been taken, top tip to you ladies have a 3/4 face pic as it gives a better idea of face shape for recognizing |

I always worry about it but so far I've recognised the people I have been due to meet. Forum people always look slightly surprised I'm me when I bump into them at clubs or group socials though so maybe I don't look like me - with a face out and clothes on anyway. |
