""I repeat myself for you who are a bit slowThe Armies primary purpose is with protecting the United Kingdom and its overseas territories, promoting Britain's wider security interests, and supporting international peacekeeping efforts. On a deeper philosophical level the army has been redundant for over 60 years on that basis. Overseas territories have gone over to self rule or been held by diplomacy. And international peacekeeping has caused more wars than it has prevented. Not saying it is the soldiers fault, but the concept of having an army is an unanswered question. "Going a bit deeper, should the metaphorical poo hit the fan for what ever reason we will need an army to protect the way of life you are use to as for war's I am a firm believer in if you have gone to war the political powers have failed, therefore the Generals who are trained to win wars should be aloud to do just that without political interference. And without armies in peacekeeping duties the situation would be far worse .take a look at the Balkans, and having done three Bosnia tours and one of Kosovo I have an idea what it could of been like.
