When you go wine tasting your told to slurp (and then spit  ) to taste it better. They even advise it with beer too.
Do you do this when you enjoy the taste of anything else? Tea or coffee?

Slurping is so off putting, there's really no need. Like Miss Honey said just wait for it to cool down...
The first social I ever went on the guy slurped his coffee and got froth on his top lip on purpose. He then proceeded to lick it off....slowly. It was cringe worthy, after that I'm amazed I stuck around.

I think you mean rinsing. There's actually no need to slurp wine or anything unless it's hot I guess.

Not in company cos posh people look down their nose at you. If I waited until my coffee wasn't hot, it'd be cold by the time I got halfway through it. And I don't see the posh people queueing up to buy me another then.
