People are cunts.
I'm thinking along the same idea - but minus the beard ....
I don't really fancy a cave either -maybe a luxuary island somewhere just me and a few mute staff.

We were only saying yesterday that there are very few people that we enjoy being with.
Will you be growing the beard before you go or once you get to the cave? I do have one or two hairs on my chin but would struggle to grow a full on beard, is it compulsory?
Good luck with not becoming a tourist attraction.
