Phone is fucked and won't charge. Can't get it to turn on even when plugged in.
There's sex pics on the phone. Mobile banking on it.
Need to send it back so they will fix it. Is there a way to prevent them looking at the pics? Can they get into the mobile banking and drain the bank account?

You'll lose everything on the phone. Not that THEY will look the pics etc, they automatically factory reset the software - IF they can actually get the phone to turn on themselves.
If your phone is returned to the manufactuer or repair agent, your details are safe. If its Jo Bloggs on the highstreet you have to trust that they won't.

If it's an iPhone, you can nip into the Genius bar and ask them to return it to factory settings remotely, I'm sure of it. You'll lose everything not backed up to the cloud that way, so it is a scorched earth option, but if you don't want them glimpsing your foofoo... |

"Sorry if this is a silly suggestion - but can you get the battery out? I can on my samsung and taking the battery out and putting it back in has solved many problems - maybe try a new battery? "
No suggestions are silly.
All suggestions on the thread are appreciated, thank you. |

"what about using findmyiphone and then choosing the Remove from Account option? does anyone know if that will delete everything?
"
That will work as long as the phone is turned on.
So in this case |

Stop fucking your phone then
Take it to a "whilst you wait" repair shop. Many of these on the high street will be able to swap out the battery or investigate the problem, but be aware it'll invalidate the warranty |

"that is why I never keep pics like that"
I store my "private" naughty pics in a password protected file on my phone. So if the worse ever happened, they would need to know my pin number to access my dodgy photo gallery!
I still worry that when upgrading my phone (which I will need to do soon) that they may lose all of my data in the transfer of information from this phone to a new one. |

I have two bricked LG phones at home which I can't use and can't get into. I was told to send them for repair but there's some naughty stuff on there. With my guy too, so it's not just embarrassing for me. And I'm pretty sure what we were doing is illegal in some countries still.

Thats the beauty of memory cards you can save everything to it so if your phone dies you just pop out your card. Another good app is called keep safe needs a pass code to access and when closed your pictures cant be seen unless specific software is used to access it.
A lesson to be learnt here me thinks |

I've had a couple of devices bricked, by unwanted updates (settings say NEVER but sometimes, the buggers still get through). Usually, the battery is the first thing to suffer a meltdown.
Now, I always disable wifi/data, before turning off completely, overnight.
A friend did a factory reset on her old phone, before giving it to me, thinking it would erase all of her files... - it didnt! There was still loads of personal stuff on there (told her, of course). |

if you bricked a device via a standard update you either fucked up spectacularly on a firmware or thats not what bricked it. |

Always save to the micro SD card so you can easily swap out if the phone breaks!
I'm sure if you do lose the sexy pics there'll be plenty of blokes offering to help you replacement with a new set |

Before you send it off just try cleaning the charging port with a needle, they clog up with fluff and prevent the terminals from getting a good contact. |

Slightly extrene option. Assuming you have resigned yourself that youbhave a dead phone, you could hammer the bugger to make sure nowt getting ripped off it. |
