Hi folks
Was curious how people decided what age range to search for. I personally can see lovely women from all ages, so I wonder how you work out a cut off point. And on the other side of the coin, I am in better shape now than I was in my twenties so if a lady missed out on a meet because of a year or two difference, wouldn't that be a shame..
So what are your thoughts on the age old dilima of age...  |

Just talking about ages with my sister. My long term partner is 35; I've been seeing him for over 7 years. My other regular partner have been between 23 and 44, with me being between 43 and 51. I feel comfortable with men younger than myself. Why, I don't know, but men my age and older usually make me feel uncomfortable and can't be myself. With the occasional exception. |

I went 15 years either side of my own age to the nearest 5. So I'm 48 and I've set 35-65. I reckon younger than 35 I'm old enough to be their Dad and over 65 they are old enough to be my Mum so that was what I based it on. |

I have found I usually prefer younger looking guys, I am not interested in playing with guys that look old enough to be my dad! But have found the majority of guys around 40 have that look already so my age range is 18 to 35...but there are always exceptions to the rule |

It's not about the sex drive. I've met older men who want to bang away. It's the sexual chemistry and mental connection. Older men I've met have been more concerned about themselves than me. And they kiss awfully. When I joined here I decided to keep my age range lower than my age. |

I don't feel my age, been told I don't look it, and compared to friends the same age, I most certainly don't act it.
I see age as nothing more than a number on a piece of paper.
How you feel & act defines you, not the year were born.
But when it comes to sexual partners... Has to be over 30, simply because having sex with someone born the same decade as my son just feels wrong! |

I like from 25 to 55 but wouldn't rule out anyone just because of there she if I'm attracted to them . I find I'm usually 2 yrs out as that where most cut there age range off |

Age is just a number some look and act younger than their years and others look act older than their years so if they never told you their age you would make your own assumptions!
As for long term dating I think you need to be within the ten year plus or minus area as to big a age gap and you want different things from life!
Ok dating a 20 year old when your 40 and both going clubbing but 20 years later does the 60 year old still wanna go and jump up n down till 6am |

Makes things tricky for us as a couple. The Mr likes almost exclusively younger men and women (makes me wonder why he's with me as I'm only a year younger)
I like women my age or younger and men my age or older.
So we agree on women but when it comes to finding a guy to invite it usually leads to some funny conversations.

48 to 62 at the moment, but they really do have to be a well looked after 62. If they look like the Old Steptoe then it's a polite no.
I think i was put off younger men when i was backed into a corner in a nightclub by a young lad (i was in my early 30's) as he tried to chat me up. I found it awkward and intimidating.
Older men seem to handle me better on an emotional level too. They are more laid back, patient, take no nonsense and just quite sexy.
And men younger than me just don't do it for me. |

I think age is annoying. It creeps up on you when you are not looking. I first became aware of it in my 40's when I bought a field bike to have another go at green lane'ing came off on grass at about 40mph, and found that my whole body hurt! for days!! That never used to happen when I was 18.... next I was chatting to a bunch of lads on a night out, and found the ego driven bullshit they were spouting quite tiresome and incredibly dull. Which meant somehow I had become mature against my will.
So now I float about as a bewildered adult, not interested in the young, not ready to be old, but being more careful with my body, because pain hurts these days.
Age range, in reality only exceptional people under 43, and any that I fancy over my age.

Age of the person is the last thing I consider. I've decided yes or no before that even comes into it. However the age range they are looking for does concern me. If i am outside it that would sound an alarm. It's happened to me once. I ignored the alarm. It was bloody brilliant. So wtf do i know! |

Years ago I had a Golden Rule. It was a 'World Cup' based rule. She couldn't be younger or older than one world cup away/4 years.
Ive been single for the last two world cups now so I don't think that rule is any longer applicable.
Just someone my age would be nice. |

I've gone for 25-60. At 25 that's just out of range for me to be a dad to someone that age, any younger just feels wrong to me. Upper age range is not a hard limit. If there is a connection and we fancy each other then I don't see an issue. |

For me it's purely because most of the people I find sexually attractive on here are from 25-45 (or say they are! ) and if I went any higher/lower I'd get even more messages that I haven't the time to read!

I really love older guys for their life experience, maturity(well, some anywayand confidence
but find that (mostly, there are exceptions) they cannot match my energy levels. SO I am probably most drawn to between 35 and 50 these days. |

For all of you getting older by the day & the wrong side of 50...
You know the old adage that you become more 'conservative' (small 'c') and less liberal (small 'l') as you get older.
Well heck that's rubbish. Been in lifestyle less than a year & loving it.
If anything it has made us realise that age is what you want it to be. If I don't look in the mirror I feel no older than I did at 21. But I know way more now than then.
Been to several clubs & seen folks way older than us (yes really!). At 21 I hate to imagine what I would have thought. Now I celebrate it & pray we'll still be up for it then!
It's natural to stick with your own age group, but we seem to be finding that those participating in our own age group are more not less liberated than 'youngsters'!!

For us it's older than our children and younger than our parents. It just feels wrong.
If we met someone at a club and we really got on well and felt comfortable, then age wouldn't be an issue.

Age is but a number that is so subjective that it is utterly pointless.
The connection you find with the right person is not with respect to their age.

I go for a fit body without the upper age limit. I'm not generally attractive to younger girls for their reasons, although they don't mind at a good party because they don't ask your age first, then they seem more interested in personality and looks. |

There is no dilemma with age as far as I'm concerned. I've chosen an age range I feel I'm happy with. It's not a hard and fast rule because it's all about the person I interact with.
If there's an attraction, we get along well and have fun, then I don't see an issue. |

I admit I think and act younger than what you may expect... And yes, I am 51, just a number though..

A lot of people use age or distance or spelling or whatever as a polite excuse because it's kinder and more tactful than saying they don't fancy the person. |

That's fair enough But as adults in an open forum like this, we should be able just to say that rather than use the subterfuge of age or distance.. |

"I think age is annoying. It creeps up on you when you are not looking. I first became aware of it in my 40's when I bought a field bike to have another go at green lane'ing came off on grass at about 40mph, and found that my whole body hurt! for days!! That never used to happen when I was 18.... next I was chatting to a bunch of lads on a night out, and found the ego driven bullshit they were spouting quite tiresome and incredibly dull. Which meant somehow I had become mature against my will.
So now I float about as a bewildered adult, not interested in the young, not ready to be old, but being more careful with my body, because pain hurts these days.

Anyone who moans about being too old is generally too old in mind for me already, and I have never yet seen someone who moans about being rejected for their age who displayed an attractive set of pictures. Just sayin'..... |
