Or you do know better but repeat a silly mistake?
A guy in my hotel invited me to dinner, after we'd enjoyed cocktails. He insisted on paying the small amount, as uncomfortable as I was - I let him, thinking I'd return the favor. No clear signs of interest.
He invites me to his room - and reaches for me. I'd made the mistake of not going Dutch. Splitting the bill is important - whether you fancy them or not. I can't believe I did that - I'm not a free loader etc.
Your recent silly mistakes that you already knew better than? |

i'm very vulnerable and believe bullshit, every single time. actually got a gallery of bullshit that men keep sending me now.
anyway, i've just purchased Safety Skills for Asperger Women by Liane Holliday Willey and The Aspie Girl's Guide to Being Safe With Men and not going to meet anyone else until after i've read them. |

I might take a read of that.
BTW, I'd bought my own drinks, it was just a cheap meal (£10}, that I'd mistakenly allowed him to pay for - formerly stating that I wanted to pay my way: my money was on the table ready. Subsequently adding that I would pay another time
His room was by the pool, a few feet from mine and a lot of people were outside, making it busy and quieter to go inside.
The post was more an opener for others - have you repeated or done things when you probably should have known better? |

i don't think there's anything wrong in letting others pay for you.
i actually like to test the boundaries people have when doing that. as a cynical person it's nice to find people who genuinely are not being generous with any motive. |

No matter how many times I've told myself to "not do it" I always end up doing it ,
The situation being .....taken advantage of at work due to my commitment to my work , being "expected" to cover holiday cover of another manager or to work an extra shift when nobody else is available.....i fall for it every time , sighs.
And yes " I know better" |

I'm trying to break the habit of getting involved with people who need "fixing" I always end up investing myself emotionally in people who need professional help, I've got a portfolio of exes with many different mental health issues including a narcissist, BPD. Depression and schizophrenia.
I got involved in a conversation the other day with a woman I thought ok cool she's kinda hot, let's do this, about ten minutes in she starts telling me her whole mental health background, the old me would have been justifying asking her out on a date by saying to myself "yeah she has problems, but maybe she just needs help" maybe that's true, but I'm not the one to help, I'm not trained, and I could make her situation worse as well as causing a whole heap of trouser myself |
