RIP Sir Bruce Forsyth
Jump to: Newest in thread
To people of my age he's a part of our youth. Saturday nights and the Generation Game were a fixture.
I recall him hosting Have I Got News For You and the regulars laughing their heads off despite not really wanting to.
RIP |

Absolutely loved him:-
Play your Cards Right was my favourite....
'I'm the leader of the pack'
'Which makes me such a lucky Jack'
'And here they are so appealing'
'Ok dollies do your dealing'
Such sad news! I hope Brucie you tap danced up those steps to the big white pearly gates.

A piece of my childhood
I think Jimmy Tarbuck is still alive and Des OConnor "
Yup, pretty sure they are.

Used to absolutely love The Generation Game, Play Your Cards Right and Bruce's Price Is Right.
So sad to hear of Bruce's death, RIP to an entertainment legend and a true gentleman, you will be sadly missed by the millions you entertained. |

I don't normally get affected by the death of some celebrity but The Generation Game (give us a twirl Anthea, loved some of her dresses ) was a staple watch in our household and my childhood.
HIGNFY also showed his class and yes I do enjoy Strictly (maybe it's, yet again, about the dresses) with him so....
RIP Bruce x |

Admittedly I was never a massive fan of his. But if you combined the alleged "talent" of hundreds of reality tv stars who are "famous for being famous", they still wouldn't come close to what he had. He really could do it all.
Back in the day, it almost felt that Saturday night wasn't right if Brucie wasn't on the box... and they will never be the same again |

I read it that he thought your "what?!" was in response to the post above yours.
Scroll up and it should make sense. I don't think he was being a twat. |

In my 35+ years in hotels, I have met many show biz and other personalities.
Two stood out, both doing after dinner speeches at Corporate Awards Dinners; one was Bob Monkhouse, the other Bruce Forsyth.
Both were commensurate Professionals, sat down with organisers beforehand, learnt facts and figures, plus anecdotes about the Night's Winners, and when the time arrived, gave a total polished performance including everything they'd learnt earlier on.
Brucie took it further with dancing and singing, straight off the cuff and walked off to a standing ovation such it took 10 minutes for the room to quieten down.
No one since has ever beaten that! Genius in his craft and will never be beaten!
As he would say, "Good game, good game!"
RIP. |
