"I Dont know I'm supposed to say! I'll be honest.. I'm coming from a warm place.. so if I offend.. please accept my apologies. I rant and gob off frequently.. but I'm all about equal opportunities and against ALL isms. I've not come into much contact with the trans community before.. Instead of saying man and woman. When I'm trying to be naturally inclusive in my language.. what FUCKING word do I use that means everyone is happy? Don't want to be destroyed in a main thread for not being mindful by accident. Help Sure I'm not the only one who wanted to ask, sure I'm not the first or last." Or am I fine leaving it as man and woman?

"So sexist. Smh" Fuck off is it sexist if I'm trying to understand you prick!
"If they identify as a lady then they are a lady. And Vice a versa " Well to be honest.. that is how I have treated things to date.
"Men and women. MTF are women FTM are men. If they're actually transitioning then they are simply correcting their body to what it should have been. As for those who, like me, dress for pleasure, address them as the gender they are presenting as. There are a very small number of people out there attempting to create new non-offensive pronouns and equally small numbers who will be offended by absolutely everything. The vast majority simply want to be addressed as they appear. " Thankyou xxx Very informative.

"If they have (xx) chromosomes then they are a woman, people with (xy) chromosomes are men. Hope that helps " Ok lots of sarcasm.. you're all very clever. This is how you help when someone cares enough to ask?

"If they have (xx) chromosomes then they are a woman, people with (xy) chromosomes are men. Hope that helps Ok lots of sarcasm.. you're all very clever. This is how you help when someone cares enough to ask?" It's not sarcasm if it's true
"If they identify as a lady then they are a lady. And Vice a versa Well to be honest.. that is how I have treated things to date. " That's all well and good, till you come to meet a gender neutral person. They don't see themselves as male of female.

"Just address them by their name. Man or woman, they're still a person and has a name. " If you know it. I didn't mean in face to face. or one to one. I meant as a collective, part of society.. when I'm discussing differences between men and women.. I felt like I was being exclusive.. which I don't want to be.. so I thought I'd ask. luckily.. some early good advice.. followed by someone totally IGNORING my opening bit.. of not having much experience..
"If they identify as a lady then they are a lady. And Vice a versa Well to be honest.. that is how I have treated things to date. That's all well and good, till you come to meet a gender neutral person. They don't see themselves as male of female." oh great.. fuck it.. I'm just gonna be friendly to anyone who is friendly to me.. and lick it up as I go along. Middle finger up and balls dragging to anyone who THINKS I'm anything.
"If they have (xx) chromosomes then they are a woman, people with (xy) chromosomes are men. Hope that helps " It doesn't really help though, for minorities where that's not indicative of their gender. It sustains the tyranny of the masses.
"If they identify as a lady then they are a lady. And Vice a versa " Are you talking about everyday life or in a swinging sexual context?
"Think simply. Men and women - it's unlikely to offend many people. Whilst gender isn't as binary as we've generally been raised to perceive it, addressing someone as the gender they're communicating with you is a reasonable start. Smiles are always welcome by most people too. And often people don't need labels, if you're introducing yourself etc." Yes I agree and think I had all that before. I'll leave it at men and women then when comparing sexes in general speak. That's all I wanted clearing up. types of transition, the difficulties that may come with it, how hard it can be to know yourself, confidence and drive to be who you want to be. I wasn't being sexist. Because I didn't know and I was asking first. I may have been unintentionally before though HANDS UP.

"chromosomes are just what you're made of. gender is something else, like what's going on in your head. do we stereotype all people with blue eyes and give them roles based on that, why not if we're basing people on their DNA?" No, chromosomes determine if you are male or female, not whats going on in your head. If a man or woman wants to identify as a the opposite sex then that's fine, I wish them the best of luck in their new life. But just because they feel they are the opposite sex, it doesn't mean their whole biology has suddenly changed and they are now the opposite sex

"I get sick of hearing about this shit in work for the wrong reasons! I'm in the forces and we were made to fly the rainbow falg this year; that being a separate issue; in my view the forces (police, army, fire, etc) should be neutral in opinion. Bottom line is the army accepted BGLT years ago and no one bats an eye lie now but the powers that be thought that flying the 'rainbow ' flag would be good for requirement! What we ended up with was a picture of gay middle aged men dressed in leather bondage kit on a two page spread of soldier mag! Where's the diversity in that!!!!! We get too obsessed about upsetting people that we end up being positively sexist!!! " I apologise for predictive text. Eye lid, recruitment not requirement

So why aren't people thinking they are the opposite sex, despite all the physical and biological evidence, deemed to be delusional? "For fuck's sake! He asked a nice question in a respectful manner. Why do people take the piss all the time on here?? " Because it's the fab forum , what do you expect ? Always the same .... Anyway , back on topic . We address as they appear , so a tv when dressed is a she , obviously a transitioned person from m to f is a she and f to m a he . A gender neutral , well we have no idea as we've never met one . Wouldn't want to to be honest as it would be way too confusing . If hey appear to be male we would say he rather than it , but would be bound to get it wrong . People can and will define themselves , and we can totally get that . Where there's no definition it goes beyond our ability to comprehend , so we would avoid the situation .

"I believe Xe or Ze was being proposed as a reference for the gender neutral but not sure that's going anywhere. That one is much more complex. " What's known as "neopronouns". Arguments against them is they're made up words, which is a fallacy, because all words are made up.

Good question " i don't know much about body dysphoria but if you see that someone is not eating and that's because they think they are overweight then they do have a problem. your body needs nutrition to repair itself. even if you are overweight and not getting nutrition you have a problem. and this problem is obvious and can be medically rectified. now here comes the complicated bit: delving deeper into the more mental side of this -if a person thinks they are overweight and they are deemed not by medical experts then the main people with the problem are medical experts. philosophically i suppose we could add that if a person judges themselves to be something then that is what they feel they are. if others judge them not to be then that is what they are too. going back to psychology we can see that if a person is not eating because they are 'fat', or they think they don't deserve to eat, or are becoming distressed because they think they are fat then here is where medical science can (and probably should) step in. it is when a person becomes psychologically distressed or unable to function that we step in and try to help them. so now we should ask ourselves the difference between gender reassignment and anorexia. which is self harm, if either? anorexia, we believe we should eat and it seems that our body can, and does, fail if not eating becomes out of control. it can cause long term effects to our overall health. we are still studying our bodies at this time because we are able to in more detail now but the side effects from not eating are obvious and well known. it is self harm because it can cause damage to our body, mentally we probably are already damaged if not eating for no apparent physiological reason also. i don't know a lot about gender reassignment so not sure about the mentality of a person going through that. i'm not sure that making changes to your body, lifestyle, or just your gender, is self harm if this improves your overall mental well being. i'm not sure that it is self harm if you seek out someone medically trained to change your body parts, remove them, etc, because it's unlikely that person will harm you. as for mentally... again i'm not sure if they can harm you that way but i know someone will give a lot of counselling beforehand to make sure they will not. that's my thoughts on that.

"I'll pop back when the DNA chat starts " i cba now. thinking about it there's not enough research done into how our DNA affects us mentally. most of what is 'known' isn't even proven but are interesting hypothesis all the same. i also have my own personal thoughts on epigenetics. and although i do know how proteins can change DNA and switch on epigentics i do wonder if we know enough to know what is actually being switched on.
