He escaped in episode 7, which should've been the last episode, but Lew Grade commissioned more, so it ended with him being parachuted back into the village...yes I know I'm a geek  x |

The whole allegorical point of "The Prisoner" was that No 6 is NOT an individual prisoner - he is, like all of us, just part of society and it is he and us who create our own prison...
So yes, by creating our own swinger society and lifestyle, we tend to become conditioned to and stuck within it....
