The problem with hilarious profiles

For those of you with hilarious profiles (like me), do you find you get plenty of laughs, but not much else? I've had about 3 or 4 messages recently simply saying they appreciated my profile (one poor lady spat out her tea), but I rarely get the messages saying they want to rub genitals together 
I know this is because my profile doesn't actually have much factual info about me, but the pics are real, and the profile is meant as an ice breaker. I don't want to take this place too seriously, it gets to be draining when you do that, so I refuse to tack on the usual profile tat at the end of my comedy masterpiece.
I think I'll work on getting more attractive, that must be it!  |

Profiles and forum posts serve the author's motivations, so as long as someone is satisfied, they can sleep well at night.
Marketing folk will aim to satisfy their punters' needs. If your punters are looking for comedic intercourse, they may depart for someone else who'll shag them, now their mood is lifted  |

I think you answered your own question already when you said "...the profile is meant as an ice breaker". Just treat it as such and stop thinking about or relying upon it so much. It's just one of those boxes you have to tick like showing up for the date. It's a funny read so you've obviously got a sense of humour and it's good that you're not actually the age you sound. Just put the profile behind you and focus on interacting with ladies who you connect with. The profile alone isn't going to bring all the girls to the yard.

I prefer to think of mine as witty, and it does actually contain relevant information, rather than hilarious but the end result is pretty much the same. C'est la vie. |

I like a dry wit, not school boy giggly humour. When people say they want someone with a sense of humour they should state which type.
On profiles I'm not impressed by paragraphs of silliness; it makes me think someone is childish and will get on my nerves, in person.
I like a laugh though, I'm not a total stick in the mud

Not quite sure what you're getting at. Does correct spelling equate to humour now?
Just reeks slightly of desperation. and his follow up comment to the criticism he's sought is just as cringe. But hey, I'm not the kind of guy who'd wear a spinning bow-tie 'because i'm so zany!' so what would I know? |

Yep, I made a look at me thread that got a lot of responses. Women were generally positive, while the men labelled me desperate and cringey. I get that humour is subjective, so I don't try and please everyone, and if I'm pleasing women more than men, then that's fine by me.
Oh and guys, you don't have to tear other guys down in order get attention or feel better about yourself - most will see through this as a negative thing.
The jealousy comment was clearly not serious, also. Much like my profile and most of my posts are tongue in cheek. But hey, look at me, I'm so zAny!! |
