Had a neighbour tell me that he's stolen the panties of another neighbour from the clothesline. Should I grass on him? He's quite pissed me off thinking he can tell me that. |

Tell him that if anyone mentions to you that their underwear has gone missing you will point them in his direction. It would piss me off too. It's like people who assume you agree with their bigoted or racist views and get all sniffy when you tell them otherwise. |

Stopped many in mid flow of their vitriol when I mention my partner, brother and son-in-laws are white and one of my other son-in-laws is Asian!

I think that whichever way you look at it, he was wrong...
It's an insult to you to think that you'd automatically collude in his secrecy!
My opinion is that if you hide the information, then you are guilty of aiding and abetting him to get away with it - so do the honest and honourable thing and tell whoever you feel is appropriate.
Good for you for having the good conscience to stand up and question it!

You know when someone comes to you laughing and grinning and you start grinning back before they even tell you what they're grinning about? Yeah. Then as he's talking my grin started turning to a cautious grimace. I was shocked and just listened and looked at him in silence with an expression of investigative intrigue and disbelief. Then the anger festered and grew when the brief encounter was over. I've never known him to do things like this so it came completely out of left field and caught me off-guard. Took a moment to realise that he's serious. Now all I'm left with is his obnoxious grin and laughter. All I can think of is him sniffing her panties. He's probably heard my little house parties.. all my neighbours have. That must be why he thinks I would approve.

Yeah that would piss me off as well. Remids me of when I was in my local diy shop and I was looking for dado rails (I wanted them in my living room but was talked out of it) but anyway the guy says oh you want a dildo rail, wink wink, it's like why make that comment to me, would he have made that comment to an older lady in a business suit or something?
Or the mobile scratch repair guy who did work on a car that I scratched in a car park, I explained that I was skint till I got paid and he said he was ok to wait then sent me a message saying he feels bad taking my money and if I can think of any other way to pay him for the work without money. I just said I'll give you the money when I get paid.
He still messaged after I'd transferred the money saying brilliant thank you, you won't hear from me again, not unless you want to? And put loads of kisses and that blowing a kiss emoji.
It's like that was so fucking inappropriate and pissed me off!! |

The alternative to keeping quiet is you knocking on your neighbours door and saying; 'hi, we haven't spoken much but I have some news, I know who's been stealing your knickers'. That is if what the guy neighbour has told you is actually true in the first place as it could easily be total bollocks and leave you red faced. It is not a conversation you're going to be able to approach with any discretion at all. |

That's a good point actually think I'd want to know if it was me,especially as it's not just my underwear out there it's my children's as well. Yeah it would make it very uncomfortable if the woman knocked on the guy's door and confronted him with it for the op,but if he can deal with that then so be it. |

Because im South African lots of people assume it's safe to share the most awfull, biggoted? racist bile with me. .. so yes I I stand the offence you feel when someone make a judgment that you share their perverted world view or taste. .....
I have found though that is usually better to be direct wherever posible and let them know streight away that you oppose their view/words/actions..... The longer the conversation goes on the more the difficulty of the situation is compounded........
