ok.....so....this wonderful non iPhone that i have been banging on about seems to have a problem and i just wondered if anyone else has experienced it and if its terminal or not??
it keeps turning itself off on me, very random, can be typing out a message or just reading a message or looking at twitter etc and the screen just goes black and i have to turn it back on
Only had it since march and i have Lookup on it which i used to scan it the other day and if found no malware etc on it.
oh and battery life seems shocking at the moment but think that might be because we are quiet at work at the moment lol
whats wrong with my baby???????? |

just double check it isn't the battery do-dahs aren't dirty... it could be a connection thing...
if you can take off the battery.. just get an eraser and rub them over the connection points...
other than that... i am an apple geek.. i can't help!!! |

I have a HTC desire, not the HD version.
I updated it when it asked me to. Then it started to turn itself on and off but never when I was doing anything. I just waited for the next update and it has stopped doing it!
As for the battery life, yes it is crap!!! lol |

Have you got the screensaver set to a short amount of time?
I have a different problem, when it is asleep and the phone rings, it takes me ages to answer it, no matter how mant times I drag the screen sometimes I have to wait for people to ring off and call them back |

You obviously talk too much
For real though, I heard all the comments of the battery life being short, but I have found it the same as my last phone....mind you, I don't have all the aps running, as I just use it as a phone, I only got it cos my nails are long and liked the touchscreen instead of buttons |

Must be a faulty phone. Thank your lucky stars you didn't get an iPhone! Their fault rate must be terrible. My mate who works for Apple in MK says they have quite a few back for replacement every day! That is why I went for the HTC at upgrade time...
Battery life is short, but then you have one of the most powerful smartphones there is. You can get 1600mah batteries for them for a few quid, makes a load of difference.

Get a reset and if it doesn't work it should still be under warranty up to the 12 month mark. |

Just picked mine up and getting used to it. Haven't worked out how to retrieve voicemail, close apps, answer before the caller rings off etc, but it's only day two.
I miss my Blackberry. |

I have the desire s I was interested in the HD but the attendant told me that because of the Hd screen battery life wouldnt be that great. I love the desire S as it rivals the iphone in may ways as most stuff is free even the updates. |

providing your service provider has set it up you just press and hold the 1 button to connect through to voicemail
you can download tast killers but have heard that these are not always good for the phone so a bit of research needed
quick tip - download contact2sim as there is no way of moving contacts from your phone to your sim!!
i do love my Desire and am gutted it has to be sent back
must remember to remove all rudey things from it before tomorrow afternoon |

That doesn't sound promising as I've just upgraded to an Iphone. Might chat to my friend as he has had one for a year, see if he has had any problems |

I have never had a problem with my iphone.. and the good thing about apple is that if you do have issues take it in to an apple store and they are very quick to replace them.... |

And that, Fabio, should be the clue! You have to ask yourself why they are so quick! Our daughter is on her fourth iphone after experiencing many problems. The reason I believe Apple are so quick is to stifle any complaints.
But anyway, this is not a thread about the iphone and I appologise to the OP for bringing it up... |
