Surely to gain favour from the public the first thing not to do is piss them off
I say give the jobs to people who are willing to work
It's not a great job
But it's a job
Reasonable pay
Hours are ok
Everyone is working harder and for longer

If people in some of the 'top jobs' (lawyers,M.P.s) went on strike, how long would it be until anyone noticed?
When refuse collectors go on strike,it doesn't take long before their absence is felt.
Who do we value most in society?

I used to live in a house at the top of some steps as did everyone along our street. The binmen used to come up the steps and tip our bin into an empty one that he had brought up with him, including extra bags that wouldn't fit into the bin, then take it down and chuck the contents into the wagon.
The council in their infinite wisdom decided that wheelie bins were the way forward. These are out on the front about 2 metres from the wagon and are elevated by a mechanical lift. If your lid is slightly open, then the binmen can refuse to take it
Bring back the good old days |
