Lay on the beach last night with a red moon over the sea, watching the light scatter across the crest of the waves. Almost too beautiful to look up but glad I did. Counted 23 meteors, rushing across a star strewn sky at 132,000 km per hour, burning up the air in front of them. An unforgettable night with me and my peeps.
Did anyone else see the show? |

Lying down outside with a tarp underneath and a blanket over us both, laying together arm in arm, looking up the sky. Lovely and quiet, and a perfectly clear sky. Seeing the constellations like old friends gently moving overhead, and the moon sneaking over the horizon to join the show. Even a few satellites smoothly sauntering overhead.
A wonderful warm closeness that's hard to beat. We must have seen a hundred over two hours, with one in five being one of those fantastic bright streaks that glow and leave you amazed.

Drove to Dunstable Downs.
Put the roof down on the Audi.
Pulled a blanket over myself and watched it with a coffee.
Was great watching it. Could've done with some company though. |

It felt very special. We made a fire and had tea. There was no moon to begin with, so it was easier to see the meteors, but then an eerie red moon crept over the horizon, turning white as it rose. The light on the waves looked like shoals of ghost white fish planing through the water. A wonderful night. |

Yes, went out to the Peak District on Saturday night after a long day at work. A group of friends were already up there. Lay out under the stars and watched the universe do its thing. Beautiful experience. |
