So as a kid, what was your favourite TV programme?
And if you have kids now... what is your favourite they watch? We all know you secretly watch too!!
For me, it's Funhouse when I was a kid and Ben & Holly now. |

Ben & Holly is fantastic with Gaston being the top performer. I likes Grange Hill (Zammo era) and Knightmare. Did you have a thing for Melanie and Martina from Funhouse? |

"For me, it's Funhouse when I was a kid and Ben & Holly now."
I find Ben & Holly has a slight air of racism and colonialism. This is likely due to me overthinking things though.
Like I think that Sarah and Duck is entirely a dreamworld of a girl in a coma and that Wally in Wallykazam is God.
To answer the OP. Mysterious Cities of Gold was probably my favourite cartoon growing up.
As for the current crop, the aforementioned Wallykazam! and Sarah and Duck would probably be my combined choice.
I think Bobgoblin is awesome and the whimsy of Sarah and Duck is simply wonderful. |

Animal magic, I met Johnny Morris once and he asked me for a fish. (I had to ask him to) a real gent.
The Flashing Blade, the highlight of my Saturday mornings.
Grange hill, teenage crushes a plenty. |

"Take Hart. "
Do you remember an amazing show called "Vision On" which was presented by Pat Keysell and Tony Hart ...
It was one of the first children's programmes that had sign language so kids with hearing impairment could enjoy it too...
It was so ahead of its time .... ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

Yes I remember that. Tony Hart started on there. The workman animation, the crazy furry worm that the guy with a beard always tried to catch, Wilf the inventor and nutty professor! Classic. |

I can remember the 'Watch With Mother' slot on BBC1 in black and white ... with the likes of the Flowerpot Men, Woodentops and Andy Pandy.
I *hated* Andy Pandy and wanted to kill him because he seemed so sinister ... |

"I can tell you what Im sick of watching...Fireman Sam
Normal Price is a massive dickhead"
I can forgive Norman as he's just a kid.
The handyman is worse. He's so incompetent and grates on my nerves! I'm not sure how he's still in a job with some of the disasters he's caused.
The amount of tax payers money they spend on calling the emergency services out in Pontypandy is ridiculous.
Fireman Sam is fit though, it's a shame he's married to his job!

Kids TV was fucked up when I was a kid, you had the magic roundabout where everyone was fucked out of their heads on drugs, trumpton with windy Miller falling asleep d*unk in the street on cider, Mr Ben with his multiple personality disorder and grange Hill where the kids..
Formed neo nazi groups
Got involved in football hooliganism
Got hooked on smack
And got pregnant
Yet none of them uttered a single swear word
These days it's a bit more sedate we love pj masks in our house, and surprisingly enough wellie wishers is a feature of my son's bedtime routine |
