By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

Im a regular forum lurker and occasional poster.

Recently my trips in here have irritated me beyond belief because of posters (one in particular ) who either uses a thread to moan about lack of meets/messages/ various other stuff, or their contribution to every thread is a snippet of info about themselves. Often this info is of no relevance to the thread!

Interested to hear other forumites irritations, or indeed will happily be told to get a life

So irritating.

I get slightly vexed when people ramble on about their day and what they have been upto on say a wander in the hills . Then go off at a tangent about how beautiful the day is ans the stars or the sky and clouds . Or witter on about how their pet is how they feel or what they said .

They just never get to the point just endlessly womble on with their daft musings

There are very few regular forum posters who get on my nerves . Those who do I tend to ignore whatever they write . Unless it's particularly irritating and then I may say something , but it's usually pointless .

I guess it's not possible to get on with everyone , especially online , so the fact that there are only a couple of posters who piss me off is not so bad

There are a handful of regular posters I tend to find irritating but I normally manage to just avoid them. On the rare occasions I bite the results always consolidate their irritativeness. To be fair, they probably feel exactly the same about me.

I am also mildly irritated by overuse of punctuation so I avoid another poster for no reason other than that.

Status updates - particularly the 'woe is me' type. Some people have those down to a fine art!

Mood hoovers and moaners - doesn't matter what's being discussed, they breeze in with their negativity.

Other than that ... it's all good

in the eye of the storm

so the op finds I certain poster a irritant and then brags further down the post about she's glad others agree with her ,

i wonder how the person in question feels upon reading this post .

was any of this necessary the op may feel vindicated even happy that others agree with but this happiness is at the expense of another persons happiness

all because the op and others in here feel they have the right to moan about something or someone that irritates regardless of whether it upsets those in question or not basically not caring about anyone's feeling but there own .

very attractive behaviour and a great advert for fabs forums don't you think.

Everything that's been mentioned so far.

But to add, the self righteous crusaders who try and impose their way of thinking on to people, and how they think what they type is some kind of authority that must be obeyed.

For once, I actually agree with John. This is a bit of a shitty thread (understated as ever).

If you have such an issue with someone you want to start a thread about it, it's probably time to go and do something else that doesn't involve being online. Have a wank or a cup of tea. Or eat some of the bloody cake that's frequently discussed.

People rarely irritate me on here - I log off for a bit and get a grip.

If you are being irritated by it, you’re taking it too seriously.

Think of it like magazine, if you don’t like the content of one article, move to the next.

If you don’t like article after article then don’t open the magazine.

Very much like that analogy.

Otherwise all articles/posts would be the same to match the criteria of one individual. Variety is the spice of life.

This is exactly why people have as much right to comment on this thread as any other. It was a question about irritations and therefore people have an opinion about that and can express it here. That's what the forum is. If people don't enjoy reading about what irritates people then don't read it and move on to the next 'article'

The same questions getting asked over and over again such as “Why don't you rude fuckers reply to my emails. It only takes under a minute to type no thanks.”, “Should we name and shame timewasters.”, etc. The forum has a search function.

Look at me threads

Men playing the white night in shining armour in threads hoping it will get them a fuck. It’s so bloody obvious what you are up to. On that note women who put things up like I am fat. Knowing/hoping the white nights will come to their thread and tell them they are not fat and they are very sexy.

People who ask for profile advice and don't change a thing about their profile. It's another look at me thread.

Moaning threads about not getting a meet despite only being on her a few days or weeks.

Men who think this website is called Ishaganybodywhoasksme.com or instantfucks.com or freefucks.com

People who complain they have had 20 timewasters in the last month. Who is the common denominator in that one? If you constantly meet timewasters it’s you who is doing something wrong.

Kiss, have drink with or avoid threads

I cheat because I am in a sexless relationship threads. Sex is fantastic when done right. If your wife or girlfriend doesn’t like having sex with you maybe it’s that you are not so good at it?

People who derail a thread and post something totally not relevant to the thread. Totally off topic.

We all have our personal irritants but I can guarantee you'll see the same type of behaviours repeated on *any* forum, regardless of its subject matter because that's just what happens when you give a diverse mix of people a sounding board ..... you'll always get someone showing off in some capacity, someone shit stirring, someone else being rude or spiteful, someone being negative, someone who thinks they're better than everyone else, someone bigoted, someone being irrelevant - or irreverent, someone attention seeking, someone (me) writing long boring replies etc., etc.

If you're going to use any forum, all of that comes with the territory so, notwithstanding calling out anyone who's grossly offensive, you kind of have to like it or lump it ....

I doubt it mate...but what these threads do when pointing to one person is cause a lot of paranoia to others.

But the worst bit is the openly admitting they are talking in private about the one person in mind..whilst this avoids the naming and shaming rule...it is blatantly happening in private which is hurtful to someone on here and just not right!
