Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion although it is about how you present it.

However, Elvis Presley, the biggest selling solo artist of all time.

Over rated? No chance.

If Elvis was over rated, what about all the artists who sold WAY WAY less than Elvis?

Goodnight.

He's 82 years of age and still alive and kicking. He lives in Guam for half of the year and his real name is Elijah Herbert Daniel. The other names and family and the rest is fake. It was a marketing scheme to sell more records. By law, he loses all rights and royalties if he reveals himself as "Elvis"

He had his own particular style which popularised his era and he had a list of hits.

I wasn't a fan, preferring other artistes who could pen their own songs. I really only recall him in later years, being the "expert" at "murdering" other people's songs and singing more bum notes than correct ones. American Trilogy is one example.

"MEM0RIES "

I'm not a fan myself but I like Memories too. He was a great entertainer, I'll give him that.

40 years ago on this day Elvis died with 10 million dollars in the bank ....

His estate now generates 55 million dollars a year....

It is estimated that more than one billion Elvis Presley records have been sold worldwide....

"My first TV memory was his funeral procession "

I think mine would probably be the Moon landing although I'm reliably informed I was propped on the settee wearing a hand knitted England bobble hat and scarf watching the 1966 world cup final...

"Any of his gospel songs,no one sang gospel like Elvis"

Agree with this. His gospel albums are far and above my favourite Elvis albums. 'How Great Thou Art' being my favourite of the genre, which has incredible versions of 'Where Could I Go But To The Lord', 'Stand By Me' and the title track.

My favourite non-gospel album is 'Elvis Now'. There's not a bad song on it and they're all pitch perfect.

Hiding in the shadows

Remember the day he died, running screaming out to the garden to my mum.

Love all his songs, but think his live album, all the tracks on that would be my favorites.

Such a voice

In the Ghetto but let's face it, they are all wonderful.

I remember the night he died because I was listening to Tony Prince on Radio Luxembourg and he was in absolute bits, seriously crying hard. I felt for him.

Yeah, I'm old
