there isn't one really.
i had a really good message off a lad who got past my age filters (coz i don't set them hard and leave my inbox open to anyone usually) and he showed interest in something on my profile that was non-sexual. if he was within my criteria i'd have been happy to reply to that, in fact if he was only up for chatting i'd have been totally happy to reply.
coming off as a sex pest is probably the best way for conversations to shut down or not even start, for me anyway. |

I would say it depends on the reader...
I sent a few mails to new people, trying to be polite, trying to pick out something in profile, and make it it interesting, also included a face and a topless pic, out of about 10, I got 1 response which was a nice one
Something in your own profile may catch them.. you have to accept no matter what you write that if the person or people don't find you attractive then there is nothing you can do |

But awfully difficult when the profile in question reads, " woman looking to meet men" or "will fill in later".  |

I rarely send unsolicited messages to non-forumites, in fact I think in the time I've been on the site I have maybe sent 4 or 5 in total. In each one I've introduced myself, given a brief bit of detail over and above what's on my profile, picked something out of the recipients profile to comment on, especially if I'm able to use it to explain why I think we'd be a good match. Am always polite, courteous and respectful.
I think of those messages I've only had one that went without reply.
Any other messages will be to forumites and usually off the back of a thread/post so relate to that and then if things spin off in other directions from there then it's a plus |

So guys expand it to something like
"Fancy my mayonnaise cannon slamming deep in your pink velvet sausage wallet"
Far more classy...

It's definitely attraction.. without this you'll never get passed first base.. add a few pics including a face pic to you're message and if the other person fancies you then you'll get a reply.. if not then just move on and don't take it personal. |

Trying to find the perfect message is like trying to make one nut fit every bolt.
A message tailored to the individual, which shows interest in them is the best in my opinion. |
