I think the site is set up by default to make single guys fail. I have the evidence so hear me out.
I was looking at my block list this morning and noticed this:
Use the Message Filters page to choose to block messages from all single guys, members who aren't verified, newbies to the site and more. Great if you're getting too much mail.
What is that all about? |

Looks like it's saying use the filters to reduce the volume of mail if you are getting too much. |

As single men seem to be the largest group on here, there'll be the assumption that group will send the most mail.
Also, it's possible to block every single group from mailing you on here, and that's the way I have my profile set. So Fab must be spoiling it for everyone. |

It's functionality that works for everyone. Whilst the text might say that you can block single women from messaging you if you want. It's an equal opportunities filter! |

Can you imagine the uproar if "single men" had been substituted with any other "demographic" group on here?
Tv
Ts
Single fem
Gay men
Lesbians
Couples
FF
MM
Why not throw a few examples in there rather than single out the poor single guy who is paid less for the same job?
I couldn't resist the last bit! |

There and to the left a bit |
It's covered adequately by the "and more" bit and ad it IS single guys who mostly send the kind of messages you'd want to filter out I'd suggest it's the perfect choice of example to use |

.....and as it's suggesting it as a way to reduce volume of mail, as guys are by far the largest demographic on here, it looks like a good example but people will read what they want into it. |

I recieve messages from a wide range of people, yet the only ones who are crude or abusive are from single men, not all of course.
But I've never had a nasty reply from a couple, female, TV/TS when I declined their offer.
In fact it's on several occasions led on to more communication & friendly chat about just every subject other than sex & swinging!

Yes, you can block any of the 6 profile categories (single male, single female, TV/TS, MF couple, MM couple or FF couple.)
The only filtering I have enabled is the 'verified user' one. It filters out a lot of the dead wood around here, and those who really want to message me have the option of getting photo verified. Something which everyone should have to do within a week of joining, IMO. My pet peeve is when people ask for contact from everyone (e.g. "message me about local dogging sites") but then have their filters set so that you can't. |
