Led Zeppelin and Jethro Tull for me, seen them both live back in the day.
But must mention the Sensational Alex Harvey Band - a live act without equal, although Thin Lizzy came close.
Honourable mention to the long forgotten Baker Gurvitz Army - Ginger Baker, Paul and Andy Gurvitz, one of them later had a top 10 hit with some dire dross, but a great band. |

"AC/DC - Saw them as a teen and on the Black Ice tour. Brilliant both times although the Black Ice tour gig was better."
They were the first band I ever saw at the Queen's Hall Derby on the Dirty Deeds tour in '77, have seen them many times since
Much prefer old school rock & blues to metal, hence I like Deep Purple, Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Def Leppard, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and many more, although there are quite a few new bands coming through that I like as well |

Watched a doc on ginger not too long ago. His style is not my bag really but no denying he hit with serious pashion and skill. Also bloody mental! |

"Nirvana
Nine Inch Nails
Foo Fighters
Guns n Roses
Got into Stone Sour recently
A few slipknot tunes too
Never heard of Stone Sour, I'll have to look them up "
Stone Sour are one of my all-time favourite bands and are well worth looking up,they've been going quite a long time now.Corey Taylor (Slipknot frontman and a god amongst men) is the vocalist and James Root (Slipknot guitarist) is a former member.Quality hard rock riffs coupled with Taylor's multi-ranging vocals makes for an excellent listen.Throw in their softer gentler tracks and they are a full-package rock band.Stone Sour and Come What(ever) May are their best two albums |

"When you listen to snuff by slipknot and hear what corey can do, you can't see stone sour in the same good light in my opinion."
Corey wrote Snuff and had to convince Joey to put it on All Hope Is Gone I'd say Stone Sour have tracks that are up there with Snuff,Through Glass,Bother and Miracles spring to mind |

Have you heard Corey and Jim Root's acoustic version of Snuff? They did it on Corey's 2011 solo tour, personally I think their acoustic version is better than the version on All Hope Is Gone.Jim absolutely nails the guitar too |

I'm generally a Cheezy rock fan (Bonjovi, Def Leppard etc..) but don't mind a bit of more current mainstream rock like Bullet for my Valentine and My Chemical Romance (And obviously Kanye West )
