I just can't help it

When I was on Facebook I was like it. Same on twitter & instagram. I'm off them all now, but now I'm on here it's back!

Peoples awful spelling annoys the shit out of me!

There They're Their I hear you say...

I've just read another profile that said

"New to the seen, not jugmental"

I'm not Einstein nor am I asking others to be. But please learn how to use this beautiful language of ours properly!

Surely I can't be alone in my annoyance of this increasingly common problem

It's not so much the spelling mistakes, it's the grammar and when they get words completely in the wrong order

I do notice. It doesn't bother me though. It doesn't retract from the fact that there are some lovely people who may not be the greatest spellers. Some are also dyslexic. The content is more important than the spelling itself .

I agree mate yes!

Not knowing which there they're their to use is a classic example

Where have all the English teachers gone?

I do look at it, sometimes raise an eyebrow but I'd never say anything or get cross.

Plus phones make stupid auto corrects so it's not always them.

I get things wrong so I don't expect others to be perfect

* "Twitter" and "Instagram" should be capitalised as proper nouns

For anyone who doesn't know, that means talking down to people.

My spelling is quite good, my looks and personality are dreadful however. We've all got a cross to bare

Hiding in the shadows

I'm dyslexic, I rely on my phone quite a lot, which can often be a bad idea as I don't always notice autocorrected words.

Bad spelling doesn't bother me, but what does is the, their, they're, there, wear, we're where mistakes

Petty I know but to me that's just basic English

Don't sweat it dude.

And yes, there's probably supposed to be a comma between 'it' and 'dude', but I can never remember.

People kill in people dying

Children hurtin children cryin

Yeah we really need to sort out grammar and spelling...

And maybe even take a pop at those who may struggle with autocorrect spelling or using a second language..

If I could be bothered I'd pull up a chair and get the popcorn..

Where is the love?

This is de ja vu. Im sure there were two spelling threads in the last 24hrs OP.

I dont care too much about spelling but if i cannot understand what is being said and believe me there are plenty of messages that confuse me .. then I give up. I think in this age of text talk and predictive text its all too easy to text the wrong words and become lazy. I am of the opinion that if i really want someone to understand me, I will read what I have texted before sending it and will edit it, if it doesnt make sense to me. But I doubt many do this.
