I normally shave my head every week. Lately I've been letting myself go and haven't done so for over 2 weeks now.
Upshot is is that I've discovered I'm going gray
This is still sinking in, I'm not quite sure how I feel about this yet. How did you feel when it happened to you? |

You know I dye my hair right?
I'm sure I had my first greys before I was 20. I'm wanting to stop dying now, to let the grey ones through so they can take super bright dye.
I would happily go bright colours, but the upkeep is just a mission and hard work getting it ready to start with.
Rambling. I'm rambling |

Embracing my greyness , no choice really .
Last year I didn't shave for nearly a week and had a grey stubbly beard . I quite liked it and people said it suited me so might grow it again in the winter |

I have a winning combination of my hair starting to thin out, a slow creeping hairline and grey appearing at the same time.
The sides started to grey out 5 years ago, but I only notice that in pictures. The grey appearing on top took me by surprise |

if it bothers you live in denial and keep shaving and pretend like you never saw them -
or accept and go with the flow "
I'm a go with the flow kinda guy but I'll still keep shaving |

"What colour hair do you actually have?
A kind of blonde, brown mix. When I had any hair to speak of I think you might have called it dirty blonde
Dirty that figures "

"How did you feel when it happened to you?
I quickly figured that there was more important things in life to be worrying about. It's not that big a deal in the grand scheme of things."
You're right it's not Howard - tomorrow's another day and it'll bring with it bigger challenges that dealing with a greying hairline |

I started finding the odd silver hair before I hit my teens so I've kind of got used to them as they've slowly encroached. Plus the rest of my hair is so dark they tend to stick out. Sometimes I dye them, sometimes I let them grow out a bit since having a silver parting doesn't really bother me - apart from the fact other people always feel they have the right to point it out. I grew my pubes back a bit last year and discovered I had a silver patch there as well though. That was a moment. |

It was gradual and I still don't like it much. I'm not gonna dye it or anything though cos it's me. |

I spotted my first grey hair at 23 but with a father that was erm badger coloured and a totally white haired grandfather it was pretty easy to except my fate.
It's not taken over as fast as I expected and I take comfort in the fact that both of my grandads died with full heads of hair so at least I need not worry about baldness. |

"Oh no, is it grey or gray?? "
Both are perfectly acceptable spellings. Over time 'gray' has become the more widely used in the US and 'grey' in the UK, but both are correct. |

Oh, the dismay of seeing the first grey hair on my head was quite something... but that was a few years back. Then there was the first grey hair on my chin last year, which was a shock.
And this year I found a pure white one in amongst my chest wig!...
I'm dreading the eventual appearance of one downstairs... |
