Pheromones?
I swear mine are getting more powerful the nearer i approach the menopause. It's as if my body is saying "come and get me guys, last chance saloon for impregnating me"   |

i always used to notice my sense of smell was stronger just before/during my period...and i definitely noticed that l had a similar increase in sense of smell during early menopause, when the hot flushes stopped, it seemed to go away...but i felt it was my sense of smell that was heightened rather than the scent itself..interesting though..i think we risk becoming a bit immune to pheromones with the obsession with covering up everything from our houses to our bodies with chemical smells.. |

You have a point. My sense of smell was heightened during pregnancies. However, i was never aware of ovulation (by smell) in my twenties and thirties. |

i think its my sense of smell that was heightened at certain times, not that i could conciously smell my own, or anyone elses phermones...dont think that is possible |

It occurs during ovulation and when i smell it i become super insatiable  |

Pheromones are a tough one, as we're still largely ignorant about them in humans imo. Ideally they'd provide a more compelling attraction to another, with the workings of this being outside of our consciousness.
I'm somewhat of a skeptic, wanting more evidence - though have personal experience of really enjoying the scents of certain people (which may or may not have been aided by scents that I did not consciously detect).
It's a fascinating area.  |
