i notice this quite a bit

you see a lady (sometimes a man, but usually a lady) that adopted a hairstyle in the 1970's or 80's and just stuck with it

's original angels (and farah fawcett in particular) have a lot to answer for

one prime example is audrey roberts in coronation street - she's had that same standard poodle on her head since 1942 !

at least rita has a new wig once in a while

Saw Telly Savalas as Kojac, and Yul Brynner in Magnificent Seven back in the 70's and thought, "if I ever lose my hair, that's how I want to look". So when it started falling out in mid 80's I first went to grade 2 then grade 1, then started shaving right down to the wood around 1993ish. I shave it more or less every day now.

Luck for me, it became fashionable to have a shaved head in early 90's

I've often thought that about Noel Edmonds, yeah he's got a great head of hair but he's had the same style since Moses was a kid.

Hasn't he ever thought "I wonder how my hair would look like that?".

Robert Vaughn is another one, I saw a pic of him as a small boy, he had the same hairdo as he did in The Man From UNCLE, as he still does now.

I know I had loads of styles before it started disappearing, it's just natural curiosity. R

I want mine feathering at the front. That might be seen as old fashioned but I like it. Unfortunately finding someone who understand what I mean and can do it without just giving me layers is hard

Agree that change is a good thing and occaionsally it is nice to "slip" into a different era and style? It is quite a playful thing to do...

My hair is straight and strong, and with a double crown, it is very difficult to cut well.

No point perming it, as it won't last long, and the hair could break at the scalp due to the amount of chemicals required.

There aren't many hair styles that would suit me, and am comfortable with short hair cut well.

I have tried for many years to have different styles, used to have short punky style hair but Im glad that im embracing my natural curls now. Yeah they look like a throwback to the 80s poodle perm but they do suit me. Ive always wanted a sleek straight bob, its never gonna happen though.

Yup... me too also! I've got the hairdo and the bewbs... now I just need a corset and a petticoat!!

I have a double crown too... I kinda like that though I don't have a parting any more... it just grows out the way but I'm liking the frizz at the moment... apparently it's sexy so I'm living with that!
