I am talking members (who you have never spoken to before) sending you a private message slagging you off.

Then blocking you so that you are unable to respond.

Purely spineless.

If you have the conviction to send shitty messages 'out of the blue' then surely you should have the backbone to stick around for a response ?

It is true that if you react then they know they have got to you.

It is easier said than done though. I am terrible at being calm and keeping a dignified silence. If I feel that someone is taking the piss then I have to respond, im like a dog with a bone and this ends up with me looking as stupid as them.

People when blocked will often start up threads with a subject loosely aimed at another poster. You also see people who have had a difference of opinion on threads start new ones aimed at a previous poster but trying to loosly disguise the new thread so it doesnt appear that way. Then their mates usually join in. Of you'll get a woman who suffers from a little of the green eyed monster who will start a thread saying something along the lines of, I always wear classy clothes, cos they've seen a new picture of a woman they envy wearing crotchless knickers or something.

Most of us do this kind of stuff, we are but human beings with a range of emotions not robots. Its best to rise above it, only the best can though

there was no conversation _iew - just a random message literally 'out of the blue'

they sent the message and simply blocked me so no chance to respond

only had it twice

one took an exception to something innocuous i posted a few weeks ago, the one today no run up, just a 'random' message

but weak on both parts

Once we post on a regular basis in the Forums/ Chatroom we become accepted by some, befriended by some and a target for people who don't take to us...

(we/us as in everyone)

I have come to learn over the years... I react at times, but have mellowed and do my utmost not to now.

even when they change names... I still try my best.

It is annoying what you describe, there is nowt you can do.. so why cause yourself angst.

the 'angst' ended within minutes of it occuring.

in fact, once i had blocked the person in question so i knew he wouldn't be able to remove & re-add his block again to prevent further episodes

Right we'll form a gang, like the gaurdian angels in new york in the 80's, and when somebody gets 'techno mugged' we'll spring into action like web ninja's and email bomb the bastard until his mouse is broken from trying to delete the msg's.

My nickname in the gang will be 'Ace McCloud' and ill be mostly wearing blue with the simbol of a hawk on my forehead.

Our slogan will be "Dont mess with team action force cos were as hard as boiled sweets and we take no shit, some little shit maybe, and shit from cute girls but other than that, no shit" may have to work on the slogan.
