What episodes from your favourite cartoons brings tears to your eyes?
The ending of the Tom and Jerry episode That's My Mommy makes my eyes well up when the little duckling who thinks Tom is his mummy, realises he wants to cook him and it is heartbreaking when he says "if my nice sweet mommy wants a duck dinner then my nice sweet mommy is gonna get a duck dinner. Goodbye and I still love you momma" before jumping into the boiling pot. Luckily Tom has a change of heart and saves the cute little guy while yelling NOO and holds him close with tears streaming down his face while the little duckling calls him his nice mommy which is so sweet and does tug my heartstrings.
The episode I Remember Melville from Rugrats always makes me shed tears when Chuckie gets really upset and actually goes through the stages of grief when his pet roly-poly bug dies. He does try and deny it at first but when he finally accepts that Melville has died, it breaks my heart seeing him cry in grief over Melville. Yeah I have seen Chuckie cry in other episodes but this one always makes me a wreck seeing him break down in tears as I just want to give him a hug.

I'm an emotional sod. I cried at the end of tangled when I thought she died. Lion king still makes me cry.
Come to think of it, there are a lot of films/cartoons that make me cry. |

Oh yes, the original Prime death scene...One of my favourite animation sequences from my childhood was before that as the music shouts... you've got the touch, you've got the power... still an ace song...
Back on topic...When Bambi's mum was killed...
And I wanted Jessica Rabbit to have more airtime in "Who framed Roger Rabbit?" |

I love that song The Touch. It's so awesome. How about the opening music to the Transformers movie? What a rocking upgrade |

"Start of UP and end of toy story 3 "
That made my eyes well up in UP when he finds a little message from Ellie in their adventure book saying "Thanks for a great adventure. Now start a new one"
So very touching |

"Start of UP and end of toy story 3
Start of UP. I was heartbroken. "
I agree. It starts off has very sweet seeing these kids get married and start a new life together but then gets really sad when they get to old age and Ellie is dying and the he is the only one at her funeral. Why the hell was nobody there to support him? |

"The episode of futurama called-jurassic bark....about the dog that fry had to leave behind.
A real weeper."
My brother can't hear "I will wait for you" without it getting to him.
I'm glad it was revisited a few seasons later.
For me my one tear-jerker moment is in Yu Yu Hakosho, when Puu is about to die |

I cry easily at the most corny, contrived parts, so much so that an ex used to reach over to wipe a tear from my eye in the movies, because she knew the bits that would get me. The one that never fails is the end of Field of Dreams - "Hey, dad...you wanna have a catch?"
I can't really say cartoons make me cry, though I had tears of laughter watching some old Roadrunner cartoons on youtube this week. Chuck Jones was the best and the Roadrunner was the best of the best. |

There and to the left a bit |
It's part of family folklore now that the last 15 minutes of Toy Story 3 I was a complete mess - right from the incinerator scene through to the closing titles, I had tears streaming down my face, loud gutteral sobs, the works!!
Up got me too, although not quite as badly as Toy Story 3 - but them I'm known to get a severe case of 'wet eye' at anything that tugs at the emotions, including DIY SOS and the odd John Lewis Xmas ad!! |

You're all a bunch of perverts.....tear jerking moments from cartoons....on a site devoted to naughty nakedness....???....good stuff.....for me two stand out;...Lilo & Stitch...as the little space critter says "lost" when contemplating love & family......and in Despicable Me...(yes)....when Groo is reading his rewritten bedtime story to the three wee girls....it's very sweet. |

Every bit of Disney films where they realise they're in love. I well up so much.
I think the popular ones of Up and Toy story are definites. I also cry each time at the end of The little mermaid when they marry and she hugs her dad and tells him she loves him. Oh. It gets to me every time |

Another tearjerker I know is from the Simpsons episode Bart Gets An F. It is sad seeing Bart break down after getting another F which would lead to him repeating the 4th grade despite desperately trying so hard to study |

What is also a tearjerker is the scene in the first Ice Age when we find out what happened to Manny's family and he hugs the baby with his trunk with tears in his eyes |

The song Someone's waiting for you in The Rescuers just after Penny has her dreams of being adopted smashed to pieces by that bitch Medusa. It is a pretty sad song but it does have that feeling of hope that someone is out there who will always love you |

So very touching " mrs was laid across my lap while watching "UP" I thought how nice seeing this couple meet young and grow old together. I thought that's just how I see me and the Mrs. Then she died . I was biting my tongue and holding my breath to stop me bawling ha ha. Kids on other sofa and no body noticed. But I did tell her when the film finished. She thought it was hilarious |

The fox And The Hounds, when Todd is getting chased and is terrified. Knowing at a young age that it really happens is what got me. I couldn't even buy it for my daughter's Disney collection because I find it too upsetting to watch. |

I had to walk out of the room the other day when my dad and sisters kids were watching monsters Inc. The bit where sully has to say goodbye to boo and shred her door
I'm a right soppy sod though. My other sister used to go and see films before me just to let me know if I'm going to cry in public or not lol |

"Bambi,cried buckets,any Lassie film's I can't watch basically anything emotionally based,such a soft sentimental sod I am "
My mum had to ban lassie from being watched in our house as I'd be inconsolable just hearing the theme tune. |

I love the ending of the first Ice Age movie as it always brings happy tears to my eyes when they reunite the baby with his daddy. Its such a heartwarming scene especially when the baby's dad gives Manny the necklace as a way of saying thank you for looking after his son. |

The correct answer is the first 10 minutes of UP! Even from a cinematic point of view it is so beautifully done and I don't know anyone who watched it that did not shed a few tears....
That's the bit for the adults |

I agree. The opening scenes of Up is so emotionally investing as you instantly connect with this sweet couple who have stuck together since they were kids |

This why I had put up down as the number one in my list. However there are many emotional moments throughout the film. Some I feel tears of joy for a character. Then scene when the bird (or snipe) is playing and throwing Russell? about and the kid is actually laughing and enjoying himself. It would seem for the first time in a long time, if one had read anything of his story. That scene brings tear to eye also...but more a tear of joy for Russell.
I could go on about many other emotional parts, but it seems we all realise how emotional this film really is
It is a great little film and a beautiful story |
