Posting to see if there's any other fellow fabbers who are either just training or practitioners in combarmt sports and general chat about how they prepare themselves for a competition. Doesn't have to be combat sports. Can be anything competitive.

I'm on the way to my session tonight for 1900. Hope to see discussions when I get back

I start my preparations for a fight 5 or 6 weekes before the fight. I slowly increase number of trainings, their volume and intensity, that way, on the end I train 6 times a week plus 5 morning 5 miles runs

"Learn to sleep with an elevation mask on! "

Yes I've tried this. But I've now been trying the "wim hof" breathing techniques. My cv has improved massively. Try it and let me know how long you can hold your breath for without air in lungs.

Mine.

1st round 1:25

2nd round 2:24

3rd round 2:28

That's good, I miss my mask even though I looked like Bane when I wore it to bed!

As much sparing as you can. Get as many rounds in as you can.

When I was fighting you didn't get 8 weeks. You had to stay fit all the time. I got 2 hours once & I got the call in the pub!

That's when your in season and have a dedicated lifestyle. Even pros don't stay in fight shape all the time. They do "fight camps"

You must be old school buddy. I think it can't be good for the mind or body. Surely you need a balance haha
