What do you expect to be given off your friends or family as gifts from their holidays?
I'll tell you now, I don't need another hand painted ceramic ashtray with Corfu written on it, and what can I do with a whistling bird?
What gifts are a given from the countries we visit as Brits? |

I have one of those plastic type fridge freezers. The poor bastards are clinging on for dear life. Every time I close the fridge door one falls off.
I'm not prepared to move them to either side panel.
It's good exercise. |

Only, I love them. The side of our freezer is covered in them, from all around the world. People always buy them for me.
Mr B, hates them and often knocks them off, accidentally on purpose!
I'm also partial to a holiday tea towel. |

We have a tackiest holiday present competition. It is actually both hilarious and amazing to see what tat is available to buy.
My fridge is adorned with some bullshit magnets from across the world. |

Me too I started that tradition with the kids so they look at them and remember the places they've been. They regularly look at them and say do you remember.............. Wonderful memories  |

Yep we collect them too but it's mainly my OH. Other people don't get them for us though - that'd be weird.

That's the kind of present my nan would wrap up in paper and an elastic band and give to my Dad for Christmas. You could always take inspiration from that. |

I brought a little leprechaun doll for my romainian lady friend and when she came back from her holidays home she brought me a hand carved clock from her village  . I was so embarrassed to give her the leprechaun I took her out for dinner instead . |

Why do people feel the need to spend their holiday looking for presents for family and friends. My brother and sister look after our house and garden, whilst we are away, so we buy them a bottle of their favourite tipple as a thank you. |

I bought my foodie Father a very expensive block of Quince Jelly to eat with his French cheese, and it must've looked like a block of semtex on the x-ray 'cos customs searched my bags and confiscated it!!  |
