evening - been out most of the night and im a bit sad - we had a group of students from nigeria who have been working their way thro uni and earning money by working as carers - 6 of them have been with us for about 18 months and are part of the work 'family' - better than some of our regular staff by miles - we had a meal and a few drinks to say goodbye and it was happy/sad - some have nt seen their families for over 2 years and are excited to be going home - mixed emotions here  |

i know i got a lump in my throat - but im the eldest and was mum to them whilst they were here - tonight between them they paid for food and drinks for us - wouldnt take no for an answer - bought the nurses gifts -- so full of respect for them - place wont be the same - the rest leave in september |
