"Surely it just mean twice as much fucking while trying to conceive!!!"
In best adenoidal tone, actually if you did it twice now compared to once before then you would have only still produced 3/4 of the amount of sperm due to the 50% reduction! |

More estrogen in the drinking water. More soya based foods in the food supply which decreases The levels and boots E levels.
Yes, a male population neither lower Than levels breeds less, becomes more feminine and is less likely bro respond with force to an invading body.
I'm seeing more relationships were the woman has more upper body strength potential than their effeminate skinny bfs.
This will be especially na problem when it comes to the military and their recruitment if an ever growing number of men are like this, they will.be forced to either automate at a faster pace or decrease the entry requirements |

"if the quality is ok then probably not.
what's contributed to the decline?
I think that it's uncertain - it's potentially an indicator of health levels imo - but it's not my specialised field. "
i'm not an expert either but should be by now.
i glanced over the pub meds and the study was carried out from 1930s to the 1990s. there is some allusion to methodological bias, there were no median stats in the papers and the older studies only had sperm count and nothing else in their information. and that there is no info on how masturbation or coital frequency has changed over the years. but that despite this they do believe the info reflects a true biological phenomenon...so i'm not much wiser either.
maybe coz the planet is so overpopulated sperms are just evolving to make it harder to get people pregnant? wonder what the quality of eggs are like and if they're going the same way. |

Maybe the quantity & quality has decreased in paralell with the overall decline in overall health in the general population? |

that's just it though, over the period they were studying the health of people had not declined. it's only this year they've said that people from the 1970s onwards are unhealthier (ironic we can't claim pensions until we're older though). so that ignores like 40 years of studies where sperm has declinedin that time frame. |

no idea, like the study is just over 160 pages so i haven't read it all. just how they collected the evidence. and it said it could be biased. |

Not much chance of accurate fab meet stats since the 1930s Hell not much chance of accurate fab meet stats since 7:30pm |

What about the GMO foods that are proven to be responsible for higher rates of sterility, infant mortality and birth defects. Yet it is not required for food to be labelled GM foods in the US. Thankfully at the moment it is in the EU. However, food from animals fed GM animal feed is not required to be labelled as such. Nor is food additives or flavouring produced from GMO's. Not finished there...food produced with help from a GM enzyme isn't either. That includes some breads and cheeses. Scary thought. Do we really know what we are munching on every day? |

"Sperm counts in western men have more than halved in forty years. A cause for concern? "
And I thought this was ne of those campaigns like "black lives matter".... "Every Sperm Counts".
Seriously though, from an efficiency point of view, it would make sense if we evolved to just deliver a single sperm at a time. It's a massive waste injecting billions into every woman we try to impregnate. Even better, we should evolve to know when we're having a blowjob, handjob, anal, or wearing a condom.... and not relinquish any sperm on these occasions.

I'd guess the rise of mobile phones. Having a mobile burning away right next to your clackerbag can't be good for the wee swimmers |

I read a report that says drinking energy drinks like red bull, can reduce sperm count.
It depends on whose sperm count is being reduced, as there are quite a few lads in my area should never have kids. |

"Good news! Keep the population down! "
Nature will always look for balance. I'm just worried science fiction soon becomes science fact. Have you read or seen Children of Men?

No worries for me personally, I took care of those boys some time ago. .
Nature finds a way of keeping the population under control, unless we do it ourselves. |
