For £745.00 for 2 weeks, you can arrive at the train station and go "I fancy going there" and go.

I think I might do that one fortnight and just go on a tour of Britian.

Anyone done it?

it sounds good but i bet there's a lot of restrictions of what trains you can travel on what time of day...if you booked a seat.. etc etc..

A holiday in Turkey is pretty adventurous right now

When wanderlust takes me I just get up and go somewhere, and often for a lot less

I just think that what the op is quoting is very expensive once you've added on accommodation and expenses

I enjoyed interail around Europe. Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, France, Italy, Greece and Spain - and could have visited others. Could probably find a similarly priced ticket around Europe for the same price as this UK ticket.

I agree, you'll probably need a couple of grand spending money. But it'll be an adventure.

I have an Ex who still signs me up for a spouse card every year so I get free travel. First year I hammered it now not so much. Am thinking of doing the Caledonian Sleeper soon.

For £749 you can buy 1 month continuous FIRST class train travel in non-UK Europe.

Far better value and for double the time period

Is this still going? When I looked it said valid to 2008?

If it is look at getting a rail card and maybe going with a friend and they'll take a hefty chunk off the £795. But I agree it sounds like a great adventure
