Apparently it depends on which side of the river Severn you live to how you pronounce it re: Shroes-bury or Shrews-bury.

I really like the place, there are lots of interesting independent shops as well as the major brand stores... good pubs (The Loggerheads is my fav), cafés, riverside walks, good parks, excellent indoor market brimful of quality food, high on the quaint architecture...

Some lovely cocktail bars, such as the Libertines and the Blind Tiger. Harvey's on Fish Street in a nice place to eat, or The Golden Cross is good and reasonable. I had a lovely medium rare steak fillet steak there.

I like Shrewsbury. Not a bad night at all and seems like a pretty friendly place. I'd definitely go there again and I'm a northerner
