I've turned down guys who have the same name as my brother. I don't like my brother and I don't need to be reminded of him when I'm meeting. I'm sure whoever I told that to probably thought I was making an excuse, but I 100% wasn't. |

We met a guy once who had beenturned many times by women because he looked too much like their brother. I suspect in some instances it was true and in some it was to avoid saying no outright.
We've never been given a strange reason, just straightforward ones. |

I'd been chatting for a while with someone and we were planning to meet. I happened to mention I couldn't make a particular time as I would be with my kids and he said "I didn't realise you had kids, not for me, sorry."
I wasn't planning on taking them with me |

I'm the same with my son's name. Not cause I don't like him, just cause it would feel all wrong lol |

"I had a guy tell me I looked just like his mum, which was fair enough. Except he messaged later to ask if we could still meet "
The works of Freud Clearly apply to him |

I had a message on my old profile off a guy, who said I looked just like his sister. He went on to say he'd always found her hot and would I be willing to meet. Ummm... No? |

Burn in Hell....wouldn't that be the idea if you were followers of Satan."
I guess so, Lee does like to barbeque alot....hee hee.
I guess some people need a satan to blame things on...we don't.
We are responsible for what we do.
We have only ourselves to blame.
So satan / devil is not our belief.

"It's funny I don't think thats a strange excuse at all! "
Neither do I, and it is actually precisely the reason I once refused to meet someone from here! |

"Nurses always say that they are working...

I don't know about nurses...
BUT, I've had quite a few excuses from men who simply can't get off the internet stating that "Sorry, I work this week!"
Do they really think they are the only person on Fabswingers who got a job or what are they insinuating?
Exactly what do they think is required to meet for a cuppa or a drink, a whole day off work? Get real! It's like you say, they like to talk...
Rant over... |

"Nurses always say that they are working...

That may have some merit, but many people who are in a job that is 24/7/365 don't just need to look at the time suggested.
They have a plethora of situations to deal with. Are they doing night, or early shifts the next day, do they have a run of late and earlys coming up?
Many of these people rightly think of what's good for them, rather than the feelings of others who won't be getting a leg over...
Yes some might get cold feet, but many have the cold harsh reality of their shift patterns not suiting this lifestyle at times... |

My excuse is that you live 200 odd miles away. That said...with a bit of planning... |

One because he looked like my dad (it wasn’t!), and one looked like my nephew (it wasn’t!). One was too old and the other too young, luckily I have no brothers to look like if there’s anyone with an age somewhere in between |

I do worry about some people, where it appears as if popping to local shop would require travel insurance, suitcase packing as well as sandwiches and drinks, at the very minimum, like it's some grand life expedition. |

A woman went crazy at me years ago when we arranged to meet in the hotel I was staying in.
She brought her kids along(no knowledge she would) about 2 and 4yo and wanted them to be in the bedroom at the same time as she couldn't get a sitter.
She got really shitty when I said it's not right, offered to go to the restaurant and have a meal and chat and told her we could try next time I was down in 2 weeks.
Called me all the swear words under the sun and said I was a time waster. |

I've met men of the type who have a 40 to 60 hours' work week, high up position in corporate hierarchy, weekly business trips to mainland Europe, shared custody with the ex over the kids, own house with no paid help, and, surprise, surprise, they STILL managed to meet for a brew! (And sometimes then a sexy follow-up!)
The road to hell is paved with bad (online) excuses...

That's because they can skip out of work and put lunch on the expense account. |

I've not had to turn down a woman with the same name as my sister. But I think I would for the same reasons. |

Yea if they look like my ex (he's not wearing well it has to be said) or have same name as my daughter - ew just couldn't.
And as has been said on many other threads too - people have lives, jobs, families, other commitments... |
