I use one, started off with a simple changeable straight razor.

Then went and bought an absolutely gorgeous straight razor. Only used it twice because it's such a work of art! Proper leather strop. Badgers hair soap brush, proper shaving soap. Salt block. Post shave balm.

A decent proper shave can take me nearly 45 mins. But I never get a smoother shave!

When I first started out using one I didn't half cut my face to ribbons

yumsville

I use a double edged razor and much prefer it to gillette's, though it can cut easily if rushing. Nothing feels smoother or fresher than when it's done by a barber

There's tons of turkish/Kurdish barbers popping up in Manchester. Highly recommend these places for a proper hot towel cut throat shave. Feel like a new man

Get yourself Dovo from Solingen straight razor. Beautiful razors!

a quandary, could you change my mind?

Used to cut myself to ribbons. Tissue stuck to all the cuts, blood on my shirt. Ended up just using an electric shaver, after 25 years am back on the wet razor and love it, I have thought about a cut throat but, do I have enough plasters available?

Central

I sometimes trim someone's plums with one, it's a pursuit I do only when sober.
